Author's Note: I do not own Nana or the lyrics. The lyrics are from "Love and Affection" by Neon Trees. This takes place after Nobu and Hachi split up. This is written for the Song Time Challenge from the Anime and Manga Fanfiction Challenges forum.
Nobu sat in a room with his bandmates. Nana was still angry at everybody, since Hachi left. It was impossible to tell what Yasu was thinking. Shin stood around and watched the others. Nana and Yasu left the room to go outside to smoke. Shin stayed behind because he didn't want to be a target of Nana's anger. Nobu stayed as well, because he wasn't a smoker.
Shin finally broke the awkward silence, "Everybody's telling everybody off. It's the last thing I wanna hear."
Nobu stared at the blue-haired boy, "Put yourself in my shoes. I don't know what you've been told."
Shin sadly watched his broken hearted friend, "But the truth is the thing I fear."
The two sat in an uncomfortable silence, until Nana and Yasu returned with a surprise guest, Hachi.
All Nobu could do was stare at Hachi, 'You've been killing me for days and days it seems. It's a competition, me and you. I stood outside your doorway watching you ignore me. I just don't understand why my love isn't good enough for you.' Everyone else happily talked to each other, while Nobu remained lost in his thoughts, 'I want you to show me love and affection, love and affection. I still think that your games are cute.' Nobu watched as Shin left the room saying that he had work to do.
When Shin arrived, Reira was standing at their agreed meeting place. Reira smiled, "Easing the tension with love, love and affection."
Shin replied, "It's time for something real." Reira smiled, and Shin couldn't help but remember Takumi's warning, 'I just don't understand why my love isn't good enough.'
The two quickly started what their meeting was for.
