That freaking jerk!

Miku stormed away angrily, tears spilling out of her teal eyes. Kaito, her senpai and longtime crush, had confessed his love to Meiko. Meiko. Of all girls, she had to be the one he loved. She, like many of the other girls in her school, had fallen for Kaito at first sight.

Yesterday she had confessed her love to him. He looked sadly at her, smiling gently. After all, he had known her for a long time, ever since middle school. His gentle rejection echoed in her mind. "I'm sorry. I really am. But I already love someone else. I don't want to hurt you, but I don't love you." She nodded and ran all the way back home that day, crying. When she got home, she immediately ran to Mikuo, her twin male brother and closest confidant, and cried into his shirt. He wrapped his arms around her and comforted her for a while, rocking her back and forth like he would when they were kids. When the other vocaloids got home, he left her and told them to leave her alone. He brought her leeks and chocolate, her two favorite foods, and did all her homework for her that night. He really was the sweetest brother anyone could wish for.

Now, a day later, he was knocking on the door, checking on how she was doing. "Can I come in? Are you ok now?" Mikuo asks, tentative. If he had stepped in while she was still angry, she would have a meltdown sometimes. He had learned that the hard way.

"Miku, please. I'm worried about you." When Miku heard those gentle words, she realized that she had to talk to someone, or otherwise she would go insane. "Come in. Close the door afterwards." Mikuo let out a sigh of relief and he opened the door and closed it. Miku was huddled in a ball, hugging her knees. Her long teal hair surrounded her, out of its usual twintails. She looked up, her teal eyes bloodshot and tearstains on her face. "You feeling any better?" Mikuo reached out a hand to her, almost as if to wipe her tears away, but then thought better of it and retracted his hands. "Mikuo, I... I'm scared. Does anyone love me? Am I worthless?" She looks up at him, her tearstained face almost breaking his heart. Mikuo cups her face with one hand. "Miku, it's ok. I love you, your fans love you, and all the other vocaloids love you. You're always cheerful, have a beautiful voice and you are one of the kindest people I know." He smiles gently at her, and softly consoled her, secretly cursing Kaito in his head. "But then, why doesn't Kaito love me?" She asks innocently. "It's not that he didn't love you. It's that you're just an extremely important friend to him. He didn't want to hurt you, but he doesn't love you in the way he loves Meiko. He values you as a friend, not as a lover. " Miku opens her eyes, and starts to wipe her tears away and stands up. "Thank you, Mikuo. I'm going to say sorry to him. Then we can be friends again." She smiles happily and innocently. The same smile that made Mikuo's heart thump faster. The same smile that caused him to fall in love with her.

He stood up, and wiped her tears. Then he drew her close, and kissed her forehead. "You're growing up, Mi-chan." That was his special nickname for her, and he had used it ever since they were kids. He wrapped his arms around her in an embrace, which she returned happily, wrapping her arms around her neck. She then let go, and ran off to go tell Kaito.

A/N: This was something I just came up with. Should I continue it? Let me know.
