Twenty young men lined up shoulder to shoulder waiting for their name to be called. "When your name is called, you will step forward and call out the branch you intend on joining. Is that clear?'' Explained a marine recruiter. "Sir Yes sir!'' came the reply. The recruiter looked down at his clipboard and started the call.

"Davis, Anthony!'' one teen stepped forward. "Navy sir!''

"Muller, Thomas!'' another stepped forward. "Army sir!''

"Jacobs, Riley!'' the kid at the end stepped forward. "Air force sir!''

As the names were read off six more joined the navy, two to the air force and the rest went to the army. The drill sergeant had two more names on the list.

"Potter, Harry!'' a skinny kid on the end stepped forward, head held high. "Marine Corps sir!'' the sergeant looked up in surprise, the marines had not had many recruits in the last few years and here this kid was boldly asking to join them. The recruiter looked down at the last name and stopped, then started again.

"Jackson, Perseus!'' the tall teen who had been standing near the back stepped forward with a confident gait and spoke clearly. "Marine Corps sir!''

The recruiter was in shock, this teen was a descendent of the great Johnathon Jackson. The one who raised the banner on the Japanese island of iwa jima. The man quietly shook himself out of his daze and looked towards the other branches recruiters and nodded.

"On my command you will fall out to the places I tell you to. Army recruits will go through the door on your left, navy the right. Air force will fall out through the doors behind me. You two boys will stand there and wait on me.'' Called a Navy instructor.

"Fall out!''

As the rest of the recruits moved, the two new Marines walked toward each other.

Perseus point of view

Walking towards the other new marine recruit, I saw that I was maybe a few inches taller, me standing at a solid six foot even he had to be five ten or five elven. He had flat black hair close to mine and eyes the color of the forest. He was lanky, almost like he was used to running from something. As I got closer I noticed a scar across his forehead in the shape of a lightning bolt.
