I had been walking in the Forbidden Forest. Thinking, kicking stones, and stuffing my hands in my pockets. My thoughts strayed to my best friend.

I remember his laugh and smile whenever we'd joke around. And I remember his face when he left. The same expression...only it was his last laugh.

It had been four years since the Battle of Hogwarts and I still feel like I just lost him. I felt tears run down my face.

"Damn..." I wiped my tears away, staring at the ground angrily, "Why him...why not me...why?" I clenched my hand into a fist, tears starting to fill up my eyes. I noticed something shiny on the ground. "What's this?" I bent down to pick it up and studied it. I turned it in my hands, feeling how smooth it is. "What an odd rock..."

"Well...I would think so since it's a stone not a rock Georgie..." my head shot up at the familiar voice.

"F-Fred? Fred is that you?" I said, slowly walking towards him, my hand gripping the stone tight and the other reached out to touch him. I felt my hand pass through.

He looked at me with a sad smile, "Sorry George...I left you alone..."

I shook my head, "No...no..." I choked out. "I'm sorry...for not being able to protect you."

"Georgie...it's not your fault. Like Neville said, people die everyday...I guess it was my time to go..."

"No! Why you? It...It should've been me...you were complete...nothing missing... I'm not a whole man..." I put my hand over the hole at the side of my head. "Why'd it have to be you?" I cried, slumping to the forest floor.

"George." Fred said, kneeling in front of me. "Remember what dad said? Young and whole men do not necessarily remain so. George, I want you to live on...don't live in the past. Look towards the future."

"I miss you." I whispered.

"Me too George...but hey...after you've grown up and lived your life until you're old and wrinkly, you can join me up there." He gestured toward the sky. "Until then. Be happy, be safe, find love, and give mum some grandkids." he winked at me.

I look at the stone in my hand, and I knew that his gaze followed mine.

"You can't keep it George...it will only want to make you obsessed with it."

I shut my eyes tight, "I know. Hey Fred."

"Yeah George?"

"Wait for me eh? And make sure that James and Sirius don't bug Snape too much...I want in when I get there." I grinned sadly.

He matches my expression, "Will do George...I need to go...Remember brother...live life and never let what had happened in the past overshadow the present. And always remember that tomorrow is a new day."

"My ever so wise brother...Love you Fred." I said, feeling the stone slipping out of my fingers.

"Love you too George." and with that...he disappeared.

I walked out of the forest and saw Angelina looking for me.

"Ange?"

"There you are!" she said. "You know., most guys go to a club for their bachelor party...not the Forbidden Forest."

I chuckled, taking her left hand and placing a kiss on it, "Sorry love...I just wanted to clear my head."

She kissed me, "I understand, now let's go home?"

"After you."

I watch as she bounced her way in front of me. I hear a whisper.

"Good luck mate."

I look up and grinned, "Thanks bro." I ran towards my wife to be and we began to make our way towards a new future.
