Angel sat down beside Cordy, hanging his head.
"Angel, what's wrong?"
He shook his head. "Nothing," he mumbled.
Cordy lifted his face to hers. When she did, she was surprised to see tears falling. "Talk to me," she pleaded.
"I thought I was going to lose you," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper.
"Angel, you're crying. I know you care about me; this is something else. You're scaring me."
The words came unbidden to his lips. "Cordy, I'm in love with you."
Cordelia's face was overtaken by the most beautiful smile he'd ever seen.
"I love you, too, Angel."
