This is my first Naruto fanfic. This is actually only the second one I have written. It's a little OOC, but hopefully you will still like it. I love these two, and I want them to get married!

It was late in the night, and Naruto couldn't sleep. There had been so many things happening lately and he knew that things weren't going to slow down anytime soon. As Naruto lay in bed, he began to reflect on his fight with Pain. A certain event of the fight caused Naruto to shoot up out of his bed.

Hinata was there. She came to my defense. She could have been gone forever. I need to find Hinata and thank her.

Naruto climbed out of bed and headed toward Hinata's home. Once he arrived, he found himself in a predicament.

Hmm, I'm not sure which one is her room. I probably should have waited until morning. Maybe I'll come find her in a few hours.

Just as Naruto was about to turn around, he saw Hinata sitting under a tree. He noticed that she looked very peaceful as she gazed at the moon. He walked over to her and called out her name.

"Hinata?"

"Naruto!" Hinata quickly looked down and began to blush.

"Hey, I came to talk to you. I hope you don't mind that it's kinda late!" Naruto began to laugh and sat next to the blushing girl.

"Oh, sure, Naruto. What did you want to talk to me about?"

"Well, I wanted to thank you for coming to my defense during my fight with Pain. I lost it after I saw that he hurt you!"

"You're welcome, Naruto. I know you would have done the same thing for me." Hinata continued to stare at the ground. Oh Naruto. I can tell that there is something else you wanted to talk to me about.

"Did you mean what you said out there?" He asked suddenly

"What do you mean, Naruto?" She asked shyly. She had a feeling it was about her confession, but she wanted to be sure.

"You told me that you loved me. Did you mean?" Naruto turned to Hinata. He put his hand under her chin and forced her to look into his eyes.

"Um, yes I did" She began to feel very nervous. She didn't think that he would confront her about the confession she made.

"Why?" Everyone used to hate me. People would avoid me. I don't see why she would be interested in me.

"Because, Naruto, you believed in me when no one else did. You always stuck up for me. After everything you have been through, you still remain strong. After everyone in the village avoided you, you still wanted to save them. You are a very kind and understanding person. Naruto you are amazing, why wouldn't I love you?" Hinata was amazed at herself to say those words to him. Naruto could always give her strength when she needed it.

He searched her moonlight eyes for any signs of dishonesty, but found none. Naruto smiled and slowly brought his head down to Hinata's. When he was just inches away from her lips, he paused. He moved his hand to her cheek and began to move forward to her lips. Hinata tensed up at the contact of his lips, but slowly fell into it. She began to kiss him back. After a while, they pulled away. Naruto pulled Hinata into his arms and thanked her again. This time it wasn't for defending him, but for loving him for the person who he truly is.
