He ran his fingers up her leg and across the pale, silky skin of her belly, exposed by her tossing and turning in the overly warm bedroom.
She stretched into his hand.
He leaned closer burying his face in her hair inhaling the scent of shampoo and dryer sheets and willing away the nightmare that had woken him for the fourth time that week.
He laid his palm on her cheek and quietly called her name.
"Jess?"
She turned to him opening her eyes.
"Bad dream?"
He nodded.
She pulled him down and whispered against his mouth.
"It's over now."
