"Please Neru, you're the only one who can help me out! I promise you, he won't be any trouble!" My best friend Rin and I were in my apartment, at the table, talking about her upcoming business trip, when she decided to ask me to watch her sick brother Len.
"He's like twenty, he doesn't need taking care of. Now quit asking." This has been my reply for some time, but unfortunately, she never takes no for an answer. Don't get me wrong, I love Rin and secretly love Len, but ever since I accidentally threw up on him at a party, our friend ship has been really awkward. And I have a knack for avoiding awkward situations.
"Please, please, please, everyone else is busy, and you're the only person with a free schedule, I'm begging you! It's just a week, what's the worst that could happen? Please?"
"What if I get sick, huh? I hate being sick..."
"Don't give me weak excuses," she narrows her eyes and gives a sick smirk, " don't tell me you're still embarrassed about what happened at the party."
"Am not!"
"Ha, well I guess I'll have to leave poor Lenny all by himself at home, sick with the flu, and probably dying, all because of a certain Akita's pride and stupidity." I gasped in an over dramatic way and wiped a fake tear away.
I contemplated for a second before deciding that taking care of Len was probably the only way to clear the awkwardness away while getting close to him. "Fine, I'll do it."
"Yes! Thank you so much! I love you!" Rin jumped up and down and then ran over to hug me.
"I better get a new phone case for this." I said while hugging back.
"You certainly will! Come by Len's apartment by eight, I'll be there too so I can say bye!" She then left the apartment and I let out a sigh. A stressful week was soon to come.
