"This is my favorite umbrella. Please bring it back in one piece, okay?"

Those were the contents on the note that she left Gintoki for her umbrella before he took off to do whatever usual reckless habits he had. It makes her worried sick even thinking about it. Even when he was younger, in his youth, he was this reckless, never acting his age. Nearly getting himself killed again and again, beaten and bloody, Death whispering into his ear, would she be able to be by his side, wrapping the bandages of his bone deep wounds, cleaning his bloodstained hands and place a cold towel on his forehead to calm his fever.

She thought this as she looked at her yellow umbrella. It was a very delicate umbrella, yellow canopy with cartoony pink rabbits fluttering throughout the bamboo sheet that formed as the base of the umbrella. The wooden shaft, handle, ribs and stretchers composed of the rest of the umbrella. To a common pedestrian, it was just a run-of-the-mill umbrella, un-unique in nature. But to her, it meant so much more.

She had only recently stumbled upon this umbrella while rummaging through the Dojo to clean. She had kept this stored away, like her feelings for him, locked away. Presently, she would get to see him, on a consistent basis, quite frequently too, and it was always a blast to have him and the Yorozuya around to keep her company. She thought this as she inspected the umbrella; it wasn't an exquisite umbrella, made of crocodile skin, furnished with ivory or had titanium handles; she wasn't into that kind of stuff. But, somehow, her umbrella reminded her of Gintoki; it wasn't too flashy, didn't stand out in a crowd, though cheap, was extremely reliable. Maybe this was the reason why she was so willing to lend him this umbrella.

She hoped that maybe one day she can lend him her umbrella again, maybe one day they could share it together to weather whatever storm that was to hit them. Maybe, just maybe.

But for now, all she could do is wait, but to her, waiting like this isn't so bad.
