Chapter One

Flashback:

"Wha-what?"

"You've been assigned, Bella."

"But, but I-"

"Bella, you knew it was bound it happen eventually, calm down. It's why we're here."

"I- I know, I just, just didn't think it'd be so soon.."

"Bella, it's alright, everything will be fine. I know you're ready. "

"I don't know about that..", I muttered.

"Listen here," Jayce said, pulling my chin up so I'd look him in the eyes. When I did, he continued, "You're one of the kindest, selfless, most generous ones around here. Of course you're ready! I believe it, obviously everyone else believes it, so you should, too. Okay?"

After a short pause, I said, "Okay." I turned to leave, but then quickly spun back around and added, "Oh, and Jayce? ..Thanks", I said with a grateful smile.

"Anytime, Bells. Anytime," he replied, with a just as friendly smile.

I walked away then, off to review my assignment. "You can do this Bella, you can so do this.." I muttered to myself to boost my confidence a bit more. I stopped walking, took a deep breath, and closed my eyes. After convincing myself that indeed I could do this, I opened my eyes and saw a blinding light. This is it, I thought. Right before I continued walking to meet my fate, I caught just a glimpse of a man. I couldn't really distinguish too many of his features- or any really. Before I could make sense of anything though, "he" disappeared. The only thing I thought I caught were a flash of green. I shook my head and cleared my head. Get yourself together Bella, ugh; now's not the time!

And off I went. I had no idea yet the who's, where's, or how's; I basically only knew the what, and part of the why.

And then I relieved the slight tension in my back and let myself be free for a bit before moving towards the inevitable.

This is my first story on here! :D I hope I did alright :)

By the way, it's only T just in case any violence occurs. I don't have a prewritten storyline as of now, so I'm not sure exactly what direction I'll be taking this just yet. As for the genre, I'm not entirely sure, but I selected what I thought it might turn out to be.

The next chapters will most likely be much longer, but since this was the first, I thought this would be okay!

Anybody know what exactly is going on here? All will (obviously) be revealed later on! It's probably practically impossible to figure out at this point, haha. Well, actually, I kind of hope you don't know what's going on right now, to be honest!
