John Corben woke up in a laboratory with a splitting headache. The last thing he remembered was he pulling out a lead plate from his chest. As he got up and walked around wondering what was going on a redheaded women was behind him watching him as he was looking around
"I was wondering when were you going to wake up" the women said. As she came closer John knew who she was, Tess Mercer.
"Tess what are you doing here?'' he asked rubbing his head
" You shouldn't ask these questions. Instead you should be thanking me. I'm the one that brought you back alive" Tess argued. " Why did you brought me back?'' he asked still confused. " Besides the fact that you were my boss" he added
"Because I need a favor from you". Tess answered and explained. "I know that you can defeat the Blur. I want you to bring him to me."
"I appreciate the help but when is the Blur the answer would be no. I kill the Blur my way." He argued thinking about him. He should his head in disgust. How can he call himself a hero if he can even save his sister.
"I know you were going to say that" tess laughed. " Remember your sister Rebecca isn't it. I knew it was. So did you know that his husband died last night?" she explained. What he tought "If he is dead then that means"
"Your niece is homeless." She finished. John was devistaded. First his sister and now this. His life was falling apart. "I can make a few connections and bring her to Metropolis" she explained. John's frown turned into a smile.
"If you bring the Blur to me" she added and soon John's frown was back. He hasn't seen his niece since she was a baby, two months after Rebecca moved to Metropolis. After a year they got divorced and her father moved to Florida with her and he hasn't seen her ever since. He had no choice. He wanted to be with her to have at least a good thing in his live. He nodded his head and agreed.
