As I finally get to lie down on my bed, I hear a knocking at the window. As a force of habit, I immediately grab my ball-blam-burglar-blur on the bedside table, and approach the window. I open the window and hear a hissing sound, which scares me to death and I shoot my ball-blam-burglar-blur.
"WHAT THE BUNK BONNI?!" a female yells as it ducks.
Wait, I recognize that voice. And there's only one person who would call me by my first name.
"MARCELINE!" I scream, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
"Whoa, chill Princess!" Marceline says, "If anyone should be angry it should be me."
I groan.
"Why are you here?" I ask in an exasperated tone.
"To say hullo." She says, casually floating around in the night sky, "Haven't seen you since my travels."
"Well hello," I say, and I begin to shut the window, "And goodbye-"
Marceline puts her hand out and stops the widow from completely shutting.
"Glob Marci, what do you waaant?" I mumble.
"I told you," she says, "To chat."
"You said you wanted to greet me," I correct her, "And I greeted you back. Glob Marce, if you wanted to meet you could have just schedule and arranged it with Peppermint Butler."
"I think we both know I would never do that." She says, "Besides, why need to be formal. Why not talk like normal people. You and me have some history together sweetheart."
She places her hand under my chin. I swat it away. I turn my back to her and cross my arms over my chest.
"I haven't the faintest idea what your talking about." I say.
"Whatever." The vampire says, "Hey, Bonni, look at how awesome that is!"
"What?" I say, looking out the window, my body stretching far out.
Then, in the blink of an eye, Marceline grabs me by the waist, pulls me out of my room, and throws me over her back like a sack of potatoes.
Then we're flying over the nighttime Candy Kingdom.
It takes a while for the shock to register, and then I'm going mad.
I squeeze my arms around Marceline's neck tight, and if not for her supernaturalism I'm sure I would have choked her.
"OH MY GROB OH MY GROB OH MY GROB OH MY GROB" I chant.
"Yo, Bubs, chill." The black haired women says slickly.
"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?!" I yell, "WHEN YOUR FLYING ME TO MY DOOM WITHOUT WARNING?!"
"I'm not 'flying you to your doom' Bonnibel," she says, "Geeze, melodramatic much? I just though you'd enjoy a nice evening ride. Look at how beautiful the stars are tonight."
And for the first time, I notice the beauty of the night sky. The moon is full and bright, and the stars are twinkling like unique snowflakes falling from space.
"Wow," I marvel, "Your right. Look how BRIGHT it is. I wonder how that's scientifically-"
"Blah blah, science science." Marceline interrupts, "Just enjoy things as they are. Don't try to explain everything."
And for the first time in my life, I do just that. Enjoy as Marceline smoothly takes my through the sky. Enjoy the wind on my face. Enjoy Marceline's company.
I study her from the backside. She's shaved half her hair, and it looks very "Marceline". Her pale skin is cold and smooth, like marble. I close my eyes and lie my head against her neck. She somehow feels warm without any blood pulsing through her veins. It's mostly silent, but I don't mind. But I am a bit disappointed when we arrive back at my castle window. She sets me back in my room.
"Thank you," I say, "I quite enjoyed that."
"I had fun too." She says.
Then she pecks me on the lips and flies away.
