Road Trip

Disclaimer:  I'm an English major.  I plan to become a librarian.  Do I really have enough money to make it worthwhile?  I don't own anything but the plot, and I don't really own that, because something like it actually happened to my Grandfather's friend.  (Both Gramps & his friend were librarians, too.)  Bottom line:  don't own it, for fun only, no profit but the warm fuzzy feeling I get from reviews.

En Route to Bellville, PA

Harm sighed and pulled his 'vette over as he saw the red and blue lights in his rearview mirror.  "Good going, Flyboy," said Mac.  "They're called speed limits, not speed suggestions."

Mattie agreed from the backseat.  "Yeah, Harm.  If you had been going any faster, we could have held our arms out of the car and achieved lift-off!"

"That could be bad," Mac said.  "Flying with Harm could be hazardous to one's health, and I want to meet Mr. and Mrs. Burnett without a full body cast, thank you very much."

"Good point, Mac," Mattie said.

Harm rolled his eyes.  "Thanks, ladies.  So sue me if I want to get to Gram's sometime today!  And the only reason I insisted on driving is because 'Sarah' only holds two."

The three quieted down as the highway patrolman approached the car.  "All right, buddy, let's see your pilot's license," he said sarcastically.

Mattie tittered from the backseat as Harm looked questioningly at Mac.  She said nothing, but smiled slightly and shrugged her shoulders.  He reached across her and opened the glove compartment to retrieve his wallet.  Rifling through it, he retrieved a laminated card and handed it to the officer.

Taking it, the officer read the printing and raised his eyebrows.  "Well, I guess I asked for it," he said, tossing Harm's pilot license back at him.  With that he returned to his car and drove off.  The three burst into laughter and headed once more towards Gram's house.
