"Why am I this way?
These tears cannot flow
This pain inside is so unbearable
You feel empty."
Zexion had decided to read in the television room today. "The World that Never Was" was a hollow place. It was far different from Radiant Gardens. Demyx was already playing his sitar on the couch.
"With everything I do
There can be no completion.
All I do is feel empty
My soul screams torture because my heart is no more."
Demyx strummed the strings with his very being. How could such an empty person with limited capabilities play such beautiful music? Zexion looked up at Number IX; Demyx stopped. "What? I was listening. Continue playing." He said.
"Separated from myself
I concede to the holy darkness
Am I me or am I somebody else?
These are things I ask myself."
The Cloaked Schemer stopped reading, and closed his book. He closed his eyes and listened to Demyx's music. They reminded him of himself, when he was human of course.
"Demyx" Zexion started. The blonde stopped. "How does one with no heart create such beautiful, and wonderfully morbid music?"
Demyx had to think for a moment. "I guess I play music with my soul. You can play music from your soul as well." He shrugged, and began strumming the sitar.
"Do you mind if I sing?" Number IX's head shot up. The music stopped again.
"You sing?" He looked very nervous. He had never heard Zexion sing before, and was scared to hear the short nobody's voice.
"Yes I can sing. Are you surprised?"
"Quite. I always assumed that you were just a tightass with a stick up your...ass." Demyx replied with the lack of a better word.
"The harmony of my soul
has been disturbed.
I can no longer say
the things I used to.
My heart is gone. I am so empty.
I feel alone."
Demyx stopped again.
"That's sad to hear Zexion. I know where you're coming from, so I can relate."
"That's how it is." He went back to his book.
"You want to sing a bit more?" Demyx asked.
"No, I'm fine. I just want to read now."
Things were quiet for a moment. After about five minutes, Demyx walked over to the other couch where Zexion was sitting and dropped next to him. "You don't have to be alone anymore."
