There was a clattering at the bar as Jet put down his second shot. Tapping the counter to signal that he wanted another...uh...better make it three more.

Finally someone sat next to him. Her sweet scent taking to the air Jet finally had to look to her. She held a grin on her lips as he went back to his drink.

"You're not going to acknowledge me?" Maya wondered.

"Why should I?"

"I don't know...maybe because it was I who helped you guys stop the end of the world?" She laughed.

"Like I give a damn."

She grinned again with an impish intent. "That's why I like you." She looked around the room. "Where's the rest of your gang?"

"Hopefully dead."

"I see...well, you know...me and my gang separated just yesterday. My brother fell in love it seems, and I told Todd to stick to him since he's sort of weak. Thousand went off on his own as well." She sighed. "Do you think...maybe you wanna team up with me for a bit?"

He scoffed. "I work alone."

"Just think of how many gems we could scrounge up." She chimed.

"Never really cared about gems."

"Even better...I help you get the treasure that I don't want, and you help me get the gems I do."

His hand lingered on his glass. He hesitated to take his fourth glass. If he took any more he would eventually get drunk at about seven. He had a high tolerance. "I...go on."

"I seem to have gotten you a bit interested then?"

"Well...I like your idea of a team-up better than those other guys. Save the world and crap. Look what it got me into. All I wanted was treasure."

"Then you agree?"

"Looks like it."

"Then we should seal the deal."

"Seal the deal?"

"Right." She took his next shot and drank it down in seconds. Tossing the glass to him which he caught.

"I was going to drink that." He groaned.

She leaned forward with a grin and put her lips to his. After a few seconds she leaned back. "You still can."

He swallowed the alcohol she had passed onto him. "I think I'm going to like this partnership."
