Boring (frustrating) workdays
By: Kana
He slams the door. For once not caring that everybody can see how angry he is… He knows, without having to look through the window, that all his co-workers are looking at his office. Shocked.
It's strange, but even that little detail pisses him off.
His fist connects with his wooden desk. Hard. He doesn't even feel the pain…
It's not fair! He has worked so hard for it. Then why can't he…? He knows the answer though.
Without thinking his arm swaps away all the files that are lying on his desk. Papers and photographs fly around to eventually rest on the ground. Like dying birds falling down.
The door opens and a red haired woman wants to step into the room.
"Wha…"
He doesn't let her finish. In fact he doesn't even let her start decently…
"Out! Leave me alone!"
No one has ever heard him yell. No one. Not even his closest friends. He isn't one to stay angry. Hell, he even isn't one to become angry. However this time…
Scared and with tears in her eyes the woman hurries back out. Looking at her colleges. All of them at loss for words.
Through the glass they can see him pace through his room. An angry look still on his face. A strange glitter in his eyes. It scares them to see him like this.
His phone rings and when he takes it out of his pocket it seems as if he wants to throw it hard against the wall. That is until he reads the number calling him. Immediately his face softens. Mitsu…
"Moshi moshi."
Even though he tries to steady his voice, he knows the other one can still hear it shake. After all, his former buchou knows him.
"Syuu…?"
Yes, Tezuka knows his tensai well.

It was the final drop. As he told his boyfriend on the phone. He was tired of it. His work was good. Better even than that of most of his colleges. He had worked real hard to get that assignment. And it was his. Until somehow his boss found out about his partner. He had never kept it a secret that he loved Tezuka Kunimitsu. Yet he hadn't spread word either.
Well, ever since then he had been given less and less jobs. Without explanation. Even if he asked for it.
The files and photos are lying once more neatly on his desk. His anger has subsided. His smile back in place.
With special care, one can even call it tenderness, he puts everything in some plastic bags. It makes the room cold. Empty and unfamiliar. There is no need to stay here any longer.
When he walks out of his office, he can see all his co-workers look at him out of the corner of their eyes. It's as if they're all scared of him. Well, perhaps… It's only now he realizes that his behavior… Yeah well, he was angry…
He bows slightly.
"Gomen."
The red haired woman is the first to decently look at him. And the first to notice the bags in his hands.
"You're leaving…"
It was the mere stating of a fact. Yet it made every head in the room turn towards him.
"Aa…"
She nods and smiles sadly at him.
"Good luck Fuji-sempai."
With a gentle smile he greets all of them before walking out. The sun and fresh air greet him. Brightening up his day.
He knows everybody is still looking at him. After all the entire front of the building he just left is made of glass. Even his boss is watching him. He doesn't care. And when suddenly sees a familiar figure in front of him, his dismissal doesn't matter anymore either.
He wraps one arm around his lover's neck. The other hand carries his bags. Relieved he feels Tezuka return his embrace. And when the ex-Seigaku buchou places his lips on his own, even the tensai blushes…
The End
