"Do you… uh… want to stay?" Ianto offered, vaguely aware that he was standing stark-bullock naked in the middle of his bedroom, with his boss/bed partner/…well he wasn't really sure what else they were, but it didn't bother him, and that sort of surprised him.

Jack nodded and said, "Yeah, I'd like that." Not that he looked like he really intended to leave anyway. Though Ianto assumed he would if Ianto had asked him directly to leave. Which he wouldn't.

"Right. Well, there's anything you'd need in the -"

"Ianto. Everything I need is right there," Jack said, pointing to him. "Come to bed?"

Ianto grinned awkwardly and got back in bed beside Jack. It wasn't like he'd never spent a night with Jack before, he knew Jack liked to cuddle, but he didn't want to be a poor host. Never mind they'd just had passionate sex… Jack was his guest!

"That's better," Jack smiled, hooking an arm around Ianto and pulling him close like a teddy bear. "Sleep tight," Jack murmured. He was out like a light within moments.

Ianto shook his head and settled in. It was definitely a lot more comfortable here than Jack's spare little bunker hidden away in the Hub. Ianto didn't mind staying there, but he had a feeling they'd both get a better night's sleep in a proper bed – without being woken up by the squawk of a nocturnal pterodactyl or an alarm alerting them to a piece of space-rock being coughed up in the middle of Cardiff.

No such joy, even without pterodactyls and alarms.

It was a bit passed 3 when Jack shifted, then turned and tossed, waking Ianto. Jack was sweating like he'd run a marathon and for a moment Ianto wondered if he was unwell. Jack seemed to be desperately murmuring something in his sleep, then he let out a scream and sat bolt upright, flailing in terror.

"Jack," Ianto said gently, carefully reaching out to touch Jack's arm.

"No!" Jack shouted, turning, wild-eyed toward Ianto, then stopping in confusion. "Oh…," he breathed heavily. "I'm sorry… I don't know what happened…."

Ianto tugged on Jack's arm to get him to lie down again. "I expect it's too quiet in here for you to sleep properly," he teased mildly. Sleeping in an unfamiliar place could certainly have triggered something upsetting, Ianto knew that himself.

"Are you alright?" Jack asked, ignoring Ianto's attempt to deflect his apology.

"I'm fine, Jack," Ianto promised, wrapping his arms around Jack. "Are you?"

"Just a dream," Jack muttered.

"It's gone, Jack. It's over."

"Don't leave," Jack whispered, still dazed.

Just a little ironic, Ianto thought, that Jack had only just returned from his own disappearing act a few days ago. Whatever happened couldn't have been good, Ianto was sure of that. He'd caught way too many worried and haunted looks from Jack since he'd gotten back – and now nightmares. Ianto sighed softly. The typical Torchwood/Ghostbusters MO wasn't going to help Jack with this.

"Not leaving, Jack. Not me. Just rest, we're both safe."

It was worth it, Jack thought as he slowly relaxed in Ianto's arms. Everything he'd been through in the last year had been worth it to have Ianto safe with him… and to be safe with Ianto.
