Superbia Squalo sat inside an office room with a lawyer and an orphaned teen. They were discussing the well being of said teen, and how he'll be treated in the Varia group home. Squalo had tuned out the lawyer long enough to hear the kids name. Fran. His parents died in a car accident a few years ago, and he's been living on his own until he was found a week ago in an abandoned warehouse.

Squalo looked at his choppy teal colored hair, green eyes that were basically emotionless. He was thin with a sickly pallor. He hasn't moved or said anything since he was brought into the room.

It was like he was in a different world.

Squalo sighed, Another lunatic.

Squalo looked back at the man as he stood, bowed, then patted Fran's head before heading for the door. That was it, he was stuck in a room with an emotionless kid.

Clearing his throat, he turned his body toward Fran. "I'm Squalo, and it seems you'll be living here in the Varia from now on." Fran made no response to this. Squalo looked at the Fran's file that the layer had left for him.

He flipped the document open and scanned it. He glanced at Fran who still hadn't moved and was staring at his hands.

"Running away is your worst crime? Well Fran you won't be able to run away from the Varia." He chuckled but earned him nothing from Fran which disappointed him.

With a deep sigh, he stood, "Let's go. I'll show you to your room." Fran followed him out of the room and down the hallway with yellow wallpaper that was peeling from lack of treatment. Two doors sat at the end, both were locked, and beside it was a key pad. He took out his keycard that was attached to a clip on the front of his shirt.

Then Shoichi, a man with glasses on the tip of his nose, and a white lab coat draped over his body, came jogging towards them.

"Squalo. We have an emergency in the cafeteria, it seems the kids are back to throwing food at each other."

Squalo let out a dissatisfied groan. "They're like monkeys." He slid the keycard across the keypad, a light blinked green, indicating the door was unlocked.

"Did you send anyone to punish the brats?" Squalo asked, his voice pitched a little higher that made the man wince, and again, received no reaction from Fran who stood to the side. Squalo lead them down the hallway and into the large room with five separate tables lined up.

"You're new, right?" he asked with a smile, but Fran said nothing.

The lunch room itself was chaotic. Food was flying everywhere and a bunch of kids were laughing while Squalo chased them. A blonde haired male wearing a tiara on his head stood on top of one of the table, throwing a cup of juice in the air, the cup itself was plastic, but the liquid splashed on the floor. Deeply amused at the chaos going on before him, a brown haired male was screaming as a dark haired holding tonfas in his hands chased him around the room.

A few girls stood huddled while more food was thrown everywhere, staining the hem of their skirts.

"Voii! You stupid brats!" Squalo said with food on his face.

Shoichi let out a sigh.

Then the doors behind Fran and Shoichi opened, and Shoichi's eyes widened at who it was. He yelped, pulling Fran out of the way of the dark haired male who held no amusement in his eyes, scars covered his body, and his glare deepened upon the kids, and Squalo who failed miserably at controlling them.

Two others stood behind him, a man with blonde hair that had parted green hair. He wore sunglasses, and was smiling at the mess, and mostly at Squalo who slipped on food. Another man stood beside them, he was tall with black hair and mustache, he glared and cursed under his breath at the kids in the room.

"Sit down," the leader spoke, and everyone in the room stopped what they were doing. H

The one on the table jumped off, his feet splashing in a puddle of juice, and smiled before hiding behind another kid.

Squalo finally stood, rubbing the back of his head, he grumbled multiple swears past a few kids who chuckled at him and his messy hair. "Sorry Xanxus, sometimes these idiots get out of hand."

Xanxus grunted. "Enough with the excuse, Squalo." He turned to Shoichi who had straightened and gave a brief smile, but Xanxus gaze fell on Fran who was still blankly staring at the floor.

"Who is this scum?" Xanxus asked Squalo.

"His name is Fran, I was just about to find him an empty room—"

"No need," Xanxus said, cutting him off, "Belphegor, come here and quit hiding behind Mammon, be a man."

Belphegor smiled from behind Mammon who glared and moved away from him. He chuckled as he drew close to Xanxus and the rest of the staff.

"Yes...Xanxus...Sir," he murmured.

Xanxus reached for Fran's arm and dragged him in front of Belphegor. "He's your new roommate until further notice," Xanxus said, a smirk rising to his lips at Belphegor's jaw dropping open.

"What! I don't need a roommate."

Xanxus flicked Bel's forehead, "Yes you do, trash. Since you were the one who started this food fight, this is your punishment."

Bel shook his head, giving Xanxus a smirk. "I did not! Gokudera did!"

In the background a silver haired with two bombs in his hands glared angrily at the accusation. "You stupid prince! I did not!"

"Tough luck, Bel. We saw the security camera, you were the one who threw your lunch into Mammon's face first," Lussuria said, his lips turned up in a grin.

"Fuck," Belphegor said, he turned his attention to the new orphan who hadn't said anything. "What the fuck is wrong with him?"

Squalo slapped his hand so he'd stop pointing. "Shut up, Bel. Take Fran to the room and show him around." Squalo turned to everyone else who were still standing still, "Clean up this mess, you worthless pieces of trash."

Everyone glared at him, but he didn't seem to care one bit.

Xanxus, Squalo, and the rest of the staff of the Varia left the room, locking the door right after. Leaving Fran and Bel staring at each other, Bel smugly stuck his tongue out to get a reaction out of Fran, but he didn't react.

"Fran, right?" he asked, leaning closer to his face, but saw nothing in his green eyes. "Hmm..oh wells, come on, I'll show you to our princely room." He began to lead them out of the cafeteria, and had glanced over his shoulder, only to grin as Fran followed after him. He smirked to himself.

'This will be easy.'
