What are You Thinking
It had been a hard day, and two lovers lay together, drowning in each other. Bella laid thinking in Edward's arms. Edward watched her, curiosity getting the better of him.
"Bella," she looks at him, a blush enveloping her face.
"What are you thinking about?" Her face reddened at this.
"I won't tell you, your going to laugh at me." She wiggled to hide her face in her pillow.
"Come on, Bella please." He rubbed her back in encouragement. She mumbled into the pillow.
"Huh? Okay, I promise, I won't laugh. Tell me. Please." She turned to face him. He slid the hair that covered her face behind her ear, which were as red as her face.
"Well, I was thinking," she paused, looking away from his face and at the collar of his shirt, which she was nervously fiddling with.
"About after our wedding, you know. What you said you would do for me." He smiled and shook his head. Then he put one hand under her chin so she would look him in the face.
"You have quite the dirty mind, Isabella Swan." He said touching her nose with each word. At first she looked confused, and then flushed an even deeper red.
"No! Well, yes, I was thinking about 'that', but not 'like that'" Edward looked even more confused than before.
"Then?" She sighed, hugging him and hiding her face into his chest as she explained.
"Well, you, when you were turned, you were only seventeen right?" She looked up at his still confused face.
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"Well, I'm eighteen now." She hid her face again.
"Yes, what of it?"
"You'll always be seventeen."
"So?" She looked at him unbelieving.
"You don't get what I'm saying do you?"
"No, am I supposed to?" She sighed, a twinge of annoyance and fear in the breath.
"Edward, you have got to be kidding," He hugged her at this thinking, trying to figure out what it was she was getting at. Bella looked at his eyes as he searched for the answer. In the end he just smiled and shrugged at a loss. She sighed again, hiding in his chest.
"Edward, your body, technically, is seventeen. Me on the other hand am eighteen." She hid deeper as she continued, embarrassment radiating off of her. He pat her back as she muffled her answer.
"Huh? Bella, I can't hear you when you're hiding like that." With this she shot up, her face inches from his. She was searching his eyes for something. All she found was curiosity.
"Edward?" She half hissed.
"What? Would I be asking if I knew?"
"Well, I guess not. But I would have thought your would have gotten it by now." She quirked a brow.
"Well, what is it? I'm drowning in curiosity here." He raised his arm to emphasize.
"You won't laugh?" She looked doubtful.
"I already promised."
"Fine," She was still looking into his golden eyes.
"Well Edward, to put it bluntly, you might be centuries old, but your body it's still the same." She paused.
"Edward, you're still, kind of, considered a minor." She looked as if she was concentrating on his eyes, searching.
Edwards's eyebrows were high and his mouth was twitching at the corner. Then ever so slowly he let go of Bella and turned his back to her. A few seconds later his body began to shake, Bella didn't know why.
She learned over him to see his face, just as a snort escaped his lips. She hit him on the shoulder.
"You said, no you promised, you wouldn't laugh." With that she "Hmphed" and sat next to his shaking form, arms and legs crossed. Then out of nowhere Edward scooped her up, she lot out a squeak of surprise.
"Awe, don't be mad. I'm sorry I couldn't resist. Your were just too cute." He hugged her deeply as he nuzzled her neck.
"Don't worry about things like that."
"I didn't say I was 'worried', I was just 'thinking'." Bella defended, kissing his nose. With that Edward burst into another fit of laughter.
