UNDERTALE!
Happy reading! - E
A long time ago, in a world much like our own, there was an underground kingdom of fantastical monsters led by a kind and benevolent King.
Because of his kindness, the King was well loved by all of his subjects.
Chaos rarely gripped the kingdom, though it was a brutal place in which to eke out a living.
Determined to reach the surface someday, all of the beings in the kingdom worked hard together to find a way to make it out from underground, and they soon discovered the dark solution to their problem: seven human souls.
Eventually, a human fell down into the kingdom, and began their long, arduous journey to find the only way back to the surface, known as the barrier.
Frisk, as the human was known, was but a child when this adventure began, but they were filled with enough determination to see their goal through.
'Goal' being escaping to the surface of course.
However, almost all the monsters Frisk met were kind, and only wanted to be free, just like them.
Inside the human, there was a deep desire to help the monster friends they had made, and Frisk decided to find a way to get them all out.
Just as they thought they had found the way out, they discovered that they had a terrible choice to make.
Kill the kind, loving king who had been protecting the monsters and trying to get them out from underground in order to be free, or sacrifice their own life to set all the monsters free.
Leaving this choice up to a mere child was brutal and harsh and painful, but there was no other option.
Many monsters were counting on Frisk's sacrifice, but Frisk wanted to be free too.
Nobody honestly knew what would happen next.
Out in the kingdom, all of Frisk's friends were waiting and hoping that everything would turn out alright for all of them, the human child included.
Powerful and determined, Frisk began to make their decision.
Questioning the choice the whole way, Frisk fought the King, knowing that the outcome would have to be death for one of them.
Rough, difficult battle followed, and it seemed like a draw.
'Stay determined, Frisk, the world is counting on you!'
Thoughts of friends and family the human had made along the way pushed them to finish the fight, ending it without killing the King.
Unfortunately, the barrier still had to be broken, but they found a way to do it without killing Frisk, and the six souls that had previously been captured were released to find peace.
Valuable lessons about choosing peace over violence had been learned throughout the kingdom.
When they had the chance, the monsters flooded back into the surface world of the humans, letting the true challenge of integration into their society to begin.
Xanthic sunset flooding the sky, the human and their six closest friends stood to watch.
Young Frisk had completed their mission, and everyone was free.
Zebraic kingdom no more, the monsters set out to find their places in their new home.
