Another poem. I'm on like some sort of spree here, Woohoo! Hope you like it, I've had this one on my computer, gathering micro-dust for a while. It's not that long, compared to some of my poems, and it's not one of my best poems, but I'm posting it anyway. I was going to post it tomorrow, but then I realized that tomorrow would be a big day for me. Why? Because Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince is coming out! And of course I have it pre-ordered! If you read Artemis Fowl, you gotta read Harry Potter! So I decided to just post it early.
This is my fifth poem posted on this website! Hope you like it!
Disclaimer: I do not own Artemis Fowl. Eoin Colfer does. Not me.
Summary: A short poem about Holly, and what she thinks during the stressed time we all know as when Commander Root died.
The lines are supposed to be separated into quartets, but it didn't work on this for some reason. Just letting you know.
Redemption
When a good friend's life
Hangs on a bomb
And all your plans
Seem to go wrong
What do you do?
As the counter ticks down
And the smile on his face
Is replaced by a frown
Your worst enemy
Wears a smirk on her face
The blame is on you
You're filled with disgrace
All you can think is
How can this be?
How could this possibly
Happen to me?
Then you get a chance
To redeem yourself
You must make this shot
You have to, or else
But the unthinkable happens
You screw up your chance
Then your nemesis does
A victory dance
He smiles again
And says, 'Be well'
Your eyes cloud up
Like it's some kind of spell
His eyes show
No trace of fear
And you dimly wonder
Will redemption ever be here?
