Summary: Tony plays.

A/N: Okay, so I'm still bored and was playing my own piano, and this popped into my head.

Only Pepper Potts knows that Tony Stark can play the piano.

It's a secret that he keeps very well kept. She thinks that it is a shame that he never plays. That the baby grand sits in its place and is hardly ever touched.

Sometimes she catches him glace at it longingly, as if he hopes that somehow it may come to him. Other times he ignores it completely. Some times, when she sees him trying his best to tear his eyes away, she wishes she could play.

Tonight as she enters the Mansion, she is greeted by a sound so sweet, heartbreaking and pure that she thought she must have fallen into a dream world. She stands rooted to the spot as she just listens. Each note sweeps over her like a caress and she feels slight moisture in her eye. As the haunting melody drifts into something different, Pepper finds her feet, and enters the room. She stands still once more, watching her boss seated behind his piano, eyes partially closed to the world and completely oblivious to all. His face is serene and his body moved slightly music that he played.

She smiles, listening to the sweet music. It's a nice change to the hard rock Tony usually listens to. But she supposes that that music fits his personality better than classical. But then again, not really. Despite what the tabloids said about Tony Stark he wasn't a simple man. He was in fact very complicated. But only to her does he show all these different sides, to the rest of the world he's the picture he's always presented them with.

The song ends, Tony still lost in the last cord, hands almost reluctantly coming away from the keys. He sighs and bows his head slightly, eyes closed, before he looks up.

He jumps when he saw Pepper standing there. "Shit." He swears, and the mood is gone, "Ms. Potts, I didn't see you there." He clears his throat, "Can I do something for you?" he asks.

She composes herself quickly, and holds up a manila folder, "Papers that need to be signed, Mr. Stark. And I apologize for startling you." She replies, not commenting on what she had witnessed, letting Tony think that she hadn't seen anything. He gives her a small appreciative smile for her discretion.

After all, Tony can only trust Pepper to keep his secrets.
