Best Friends to The End, But Better Off As Lovers

It was late and you were sitting on your bed quietly sketching in a journal. Everything was quiet in the house except the constant hum of the air conditioner. Finishing the outline of the anime girl, you were startled by a scratching on the window. After listening for a second, there was silence again and you continued drawing. A few moments later, the noise repeated itself. A little frightened you put the art pad down and headed over to your window. "Nothing there...AHHH!" The window slid open and a hand reached in to cover you mouth. Struggling to break free you licked the hand which immediately retracted and sprinted hysterically towards the door.
"Shh! would you shut up! It's me!" Recognizing the voice you turned around the see your best friend, Patrick. Still in shock from the whole breaking and entering thing, you dumped yourself onto the floor and just stared ahead muttering, "I'm okay now," repeatedly to yourself.
Walking over to you Patrick kneeled down and put his arms around you mumbling, "Sorry, I must have really scared you..." Ripping yourself out of his arms you stood in front of him and snapped "What exactly are you doing here anyway? You're the last person I want to talk to right now."
He looked a little uncomfortable at the mention of this topic and stuttered a little trying to find a way to start. Tapping your foot impatiently and giving him a stern talk now look he exploded letting all his words come out in a rush. "I'm so sorry! I should have never asked out your best friend when I knew you had feelings for me. I just didn't realize. We've always been really close and I thought it would be weird if we dated. So I decided if I went out with your friend you'd get over me and vice versa but I didn't realize you would get so upset and I'd feel so guilty. Gosh, I've been in such denial of my feelings. In fact, ever since I met you I liked, no I loved you but kept everything hidden for fear of ruining our friendship and here I am now sitting on the floor spilling out all my thoughts… I bet you never want to talk to me again and I should probably just leave now. I promise I'll leave you alone."
He got up heading to the window with a last, "I think I broke your screen…uh, I'll pay for it later! I promise!" He smoothly got out of the window and onto the roof when you snapped out of your reverie and called "Wait!!"
Running onto the roof you grabbed him and pulled him close hugging him. Patrick stopped in shock as you burst into tears and cried, "I'm sorry too! I should have said something earlier. It's just I thought you'd think I was weird or reject me If you knew I liked you. But anyway I love you!" Still sobbing you watched with blurry eyes as he turned around and wiped your tears off with his lips. "Don't cry anymore, Sarah, I love you and always will."
Smiling happily you leaned in as the last few drops of water fell from your eyes and brushed your lips against his, a perfect first kiss.
From the roof of a house a happy couple with no care in the world looked up into the sky and at the great, beautiful, full moon.
