Third person P.O.V.
Harley and Ivy were laughing loudly, in high spirits from the success of their latest heist. Granted it would have been more impressive if they were actually in Gotham and had thwarted Batman. At the moment they were in Harley's hometown visiting some relatives.
"That went so much betta without Bat breath and ta Boy blunder to get in the way."
"Don't forget Batgirl. I've still got bruised ribs from the last time she decided to get involved."
"Puh-leez. She hardly hit ya last time. Ya have more of a bruised ego than anything else."
Ivy shot her companion a warning glance. She opened her mouth to retort before squinting at something across the street. It was three A.M. yet there was a boy bundled in a blue blanket sitting on a fence that surrounded a pumpkin patch. Harley who had continued walking and talking was completely unaware that Ivy had stopped. She didn't notice until the flipped forwards and began walking on her hands and saw her green friend several feet back.
"Red, whatcha doin?"
"Nothing. Just curious about something."
"What?" Harley followed Ivy's line of sight and started laughing hysterically.
"What are you laughing about?" Ivy asked pinching the bridge of her nose as if to stave off a headache.
"That must be Linus. My cousin's niece, Sally, has a crush on him. She said that every year he sits in that patch waiting for tha Great Pumpkin."
"The Great Pumpkin?"
"He basically gave the traits of Santa to a stupid pumpkin."
"Stupid pumpkin?" Ivy raised an arched eyebrow, her eyes narrowing dangerously.
"Whoops. I forgot who I was talking to for a minute, sorry Red. Even you have to admit that it's kinda silly to be so obsessed with a plant though."
Ivy rolled her eyes and strolled towards Linus at a leisurely pace. She stopped a few feet away.
"Hey there."
Linus looked up in surprise almost falling off the fence.
"Hi." Linus fidgeted nervously glancing from Ivy to Harley obviously unsure about why the two women had come up to him.
"So I heard that your waiting for the great pumpkin, do you think he'll show?"
"Most definitely." Linus nodded earnestly as he answered seeming to have no doubts whatsoever about whether this was a fact or mere speculation.
Ivy was touched by Linus' faith in the 'Great pumpkin' glad to finally meet someone who shared her respect for nature.
"Well I hope your not disappointed. Good luck." Ivy started walking away a mischievous grin etched across her face.
"What was that about?" Harley was staring at Ivy with wide eyes completely confused by her friends behavior.
"You'll see."
Ivy walked behind a tree so she was just out of Linus's line of sight, but still able to see the boy. She concentrated on the largest pumpkin in the patch and willed it to come to life. As soon as she succeded and heard the young man's excitement she turned and continued on her way as if the encounter had never happened. Until her wannabe clown companion decided to comment,
Requester:
"I never knew you could be so nice" Harley said teasingly.
"I know" Ivy sighed, then before walking away she slyly added "you must be rubbing off on me."
