A.N.: I decided one day to do a Hatori One Shot. This story is entirely from his point of view, and therefore his voice. I hope you like it!
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing except for Kyoko and I the idea.
I sat down finally after stopping Akito-sama from lashing out at a maid. The poor girl was already in tears from loosing her mother earlier in the week, so I can understand why she dropped the tray with an expensive tea set on it. Unfortunately, I was too late to stop any damage from occuring, and Akito-sama had already hit her so hard that she had fallen onto the shattered glass, giving her a nasty cut on her arm that took me more than an hour to properly clean, stitch, and wrap to prevent infection.
Turning to the desk, I grabbed her file and added her new medical inormation. Before long I could feel myself starting to drift away. Sleep had abandoned me for the past week once again, for I had more critical calls this week than others before. It seemed almost as if I had been living on caffine as I turned on my coffee machine for the second time today.
My eyes drifted to the picture I keep on my desk, and I let out a slow sigh as memories flooded back to me. Her smile, her cheerful eyes when she would look at me, but that all changed with a simple, selfish action. Yes, all of the joy in her face faded when I was selfish enough to ask Akito-sama if I could marry Kana-san. I knew we would never be allowed to be ogether because of the curse and my duties to Akito-sama, yet despite all that, I still asked.
My thoughts were interuppted by the smell of my coffee that had just finished. I grabbed my cup and took a long drink, enjoying this brief moment of peace to relax before turning back to the maid's file. One of the nurses had brought her file to me, so I didn't notice her name until after I was almost halfway through my coffee. Her name was Kyoko Sohma. I found it slightly ironic how she had gotten hurt while reflecting on what had recently happened, considering her name meant "mirror". I refocused on the task at hand and jotted a few more notes before calling one of the maids who still worked hre. While I waited for her to arrive, I closed my eyes. By the time my door opened, I had finished my coffee. I picked up the file and gave her intructions to deliver them to Kureno-san and have him finish the work that needed to be done. Kyoko was being fired, but it was Kureno-san's responsibility to enforce it. The maid nodded and bowed to me before hurrying out of the room. I wondered why she was in such a rush, but decided to ignore it, ans went back to my computer, putting in the needed information.
