Nina X Galen one-shot.
I don't know why, but for a reason, I enjoy writing about rare old couples. .-.
Or at least, this Galen's Point of View after Nina died. XD
R&R! Thanks, teacupz' for the inspiration. : D I don't get that often.
Okay. Starting N.O.W. Sorry it's shorter. XD Okay, now.
Galen's Point of View - After Death
Life is a cold, harsh place. You never know what's going to happen, being a lot of people each day, meaning Nina. I loved her, I really did. Everybody loved her, too, if not just liked her. She was old like I, and we lived out the rest of our lives in Forget Me Not Valley.
That is… until now.
I was forced to give up my home to Dr. Hardy when population rose the least bit, and am now living in a shack. The only benefit is Nina - a grave planted right in my 'front yard', consisting of her body underneath.
I was so shallow to even my friends - Faye, the local farmer… Wait, that's basically my only friend.
I sighed. My hut was small and warm, though, but there's no warmth in my heart. It's all coal, hard, black coal.
Nudging on my oversized jacket, mittens, and scarf, all of which my love made me while living, I closed the door behind me as my body was caressed by soft, breezy wind while I stepped my bony frame out the doorway. I walked forward, leaving marks in the snow as I walked. Kneeling down next to the grave, I whispered a prayer that sounded like, "Dear Goddess, please send Nina my loving. Tell her I cannot live as gracefully as when she was with me. And… most of all, tell her that she'll never ever be at the back of my mind in the toughest situations." Heavily sighing, I heaved myself up, tears sketching my petite face.
That's when I heard a voice behind me. One that I couldn't have mistaken as any other than Faye. I looked over at her face. It was full of weariness and distress, and sweat soaked into her skin.
"G-G-G..Galen…" she whimpered, tripping. "Are you.. Okay..?" I asked, knowing something was wrong.
"Cows.. Animals…. Momo.. He's SICK!" she cried out, launching herself into my arms while I patted her on the back and murmured something. "Come on, let's get you back home." I told her admiringly, blew a kiss to Nina's grave, then carried her off to her own house and husband - Marlin. He opened the door when I knocked on it, along with their child running out of the door, and Marlin yelling after him to get back in here. And, then, he went off to go get the small boy. Jax, I remember. Faye had once told me about him. He's cute.
Heaving her over my shoulder again, she groaned or cried, I don't know. With the best soft words I could imagine, I set her down, planning to coax her to her own bed. "I'll tell Marlin to take care of your animals."
She nodded.
"I'll go order some medicine. Just sleep, dear."
With a weary sigh, she finally settled down on the two-person bed, and snuggled up against the pillow, head cropped perfectly. Smiling to my self gently, I walked out of the door, warmth suddenly leaving my body.
