Revolve

"Never in a million years!", she had said, and the words still echoed in her mind. They tumbled, and vibrated, raged against the confines of her memory till she felt they would burst out of her head.

His lips were descending maddeningly upon her own ones, upon her chin, her neck, her chest, and she was caught in a powerful vortex of sheer lust and pure emotion.

His hands, as curious as he was, drew tantalising trails of mellow fire across her bare skin and she had to draw in a breath to make sure she was still alive.

His voice lilted and soothed her, in stark contrast to his hands. She was all at once devouring and devoured, and it felt wonderful.

She lifted her head to deepen the kiss, and caught him by surprise.

I love you, he had murmured to her, or at least that's what she thought he'd said. The words, increasing in volume, surrounded her until she was trembling underneath their weight.

Then suddenly, louder, stronger: "You're crazy!".

The words clawed at her breast, scratched her heart until she was on her knees. They bit into her flesh, bruising and burning at the same time, and the pain was enough to drive her to madness.

The darkness swirled menacingly about her, and she opened her mouth to scream only to find herself frozen.
She opened her mouth again, but only silence ripped itself painfully from her throat. Trembling, with her last powers she thought of him, and a small light peeped through the vast darkness.

Slowly, she opened her eyes. Her room looked the same as always, even after seven years. Sunlight danced on the floor, carelessly, coldly, uninterested in her inner turmoil.

She rubbed her eyes and pressed a hand to her still wildly beating heart.

"Never in a million years!", she had said, and she would wait out every single one of them.

Author's Note: Set post episode 83. I figured those words would come back to haunt. To be clear, this happens almost a decade after that episode. Updated to reflect that since it wasn't clear enough the first time.
