"Misa, why do you always have your hair up in twin tails?"
It was a question Misa hates to answer. Her answer would always be, "Why do you care?" or "Is it bothering you?"
She didn't blame them though. The hair bunches makes her look fourteen rather than a girl in her early twenties. It was strange for a girl who loves everything in style. The reason why she has her hair up like this is because her mom would like her to put it up like that. Yes, her mom isn't there with her anymore, but Misa-Misa didn't care. She always felt her presence around her.
Misa remembered what happened when she left the house and left her family murdered. How mean and rude she felt on that day made her feel regret.
"Ugh! Forget it! I'll just go to the mall with my freaking hair down!" she yelled in the mirror. She was going through many, many hairstyles and was in front of the mirror for what seemed like a decade.
"Something wrong?" Natsumi Amane said in a caring voice. Her eyes were a vibrant green color, similar to that of Misa's. Her hair was a dark brown-black shade, making her eyes stand out.
"My hair's fucked!" Misa said letting out steam. Her mother always understood her temper; it was similar to her dad's. Mind you, it's not a bad, short temper, but she can never seem to bottle it all in.
Natsumi chuckled, "Let me see if I can fix that," she walked over next to Misa in front of the mirror and examined, "Oh, I got it!"
She grabbed strands of Misa's hair on each side and held them up, implying the twin tail hairstyle, "How about that? It makes you look younger,"
Misa looked in the mirror in disgust. Her mom's style are usually stuck in the 80s. "No way am I going anywhere like that! Look, my friends are waiting for me. I gotta go,"
Throughout the day, Misa felt extreme guilt swimming in her mind. She scarcely paid attention to the gossip information her friends were throwing at each other.
Nothing would ever stab her in pain as much as it did when she came back home, seeing that she will never apologize to her mom.
On that day forward, Misa will always go everywhere with the twin tail style. No magazine or other style-related media can take it away from her.

A/N: Research says that 'twin tail' is Japan's term for 'Hair bunches' or 'pigtails'.
I wrote this on the behalf that Misa needs less hate and more love. n.n
