Title: Of Dangers and Spit Up
Rating: F for fluff
Summary: Daddy!John is learning that feeding a baby can be a dangerous job.
"Do you know why Mighty Mouse would kick Underdog's butt in a fight? Because Mighty Mouse has the power. Underdog is like this frail-looking wannabe superhero, but Mighty Mouse is all pump-up and has this cockiness that I can relate to."
Six-month old Aaron stared up at his daddy with wide eyes as he drained his bottle. He always looked at John with innocent curiosity that his mommy found so adorable.
"You're done already, kid?" John asked as Aaron tossed the empty bottle on his highchair tray. "You eat faster than the kid with the freaky lizard tongue."
He slipped his hands under Aaron's underarms, raising the baby over his head. John smiled up at Aaron. "I think daddy is starting to get the hang of this."
Kitty was always ecstatic these days when John offered to feed Aaron. On this particular night, Kitty was folding laundry in their bedroom as John fed Aaron in the adjoining room. She smiled as she listened to John hold a conversation with their son.
Kitty nearly phased through the bed when a loud expletive echoed from the adjoining room. She regained her bearings then ran through the wall to see what had happened. The sight that awaited her was far too amusing, and she could barely keep her laughter in.
There stood John - the baby extended out at arm's length – a milky white liquid splattered all over his face. He glared death rays at Kitty as she doubled over, holding her side .
"This isn't funny."
"Yes, it is," she gasped out.
"You could help!"
Kitty finally calmed enough to take Aaron from him. She watched as John stormed into the bathroom, emerging a couple minutes later – shirtless and minus the milky liquid on his face. She couldn't help but still giggle at the thought of the spit up all over his face.
"I hope that didn't scare you away from feeding Aaron."
John glared, but when he looked at his son, his features softened. He shook his head. "No, but that better not happen again."
Kitty rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on, John! It was just spit up. Babies do it all the time. Did you burp him right after?"
John cursed silently. "I knew I forgot something."
