Kim walks out of her New York City apartment, beginning her journey to the Manhattan DA's office. Today was the day she was going to ask Serena to dinner. She finally swallowed down that she was, indeed, interested in women. She had previously decided to wear the outfit Serena loved seeing her in the most. It consists of a white blouse with the top two buttons undone, a charcoal grey pencil skirt that was tighter than she'd prefer to wear to work, and black heels with white bows on the top of them. Her hair was wavy, as Serena had complimented it this way before.
Serena chews on her lip as she waits for the elevator to stop at the floor her office is on. She taps her fingers on the drink carrier filled with five coffees, one for herself -marked "Serena"- and one for each of her best friends. The usual "Casey", "Alex", "Abbie", and "Kim" was written on the cup with the matching order. This time, Serena had her own markers and decorated Kim's while sitting in the car. She drew hearts and wrote a handful of happy quotes on it before becoming satisfied with it. Today Serena would ask Kim to dinner, as a date.

Serena frowns as she walks into Kim's office and she isn't in there. She set the coffee on the desk and picked up a pen and a sticky note.
Kim,
The coffee fairy visited while you were gone. Hopefully you were back fast enough so it didn't grow cold.
She knows Kim would know it was her by the handwriting, but she liked it like this, she didn't have to face Kim. Serena continues her route and ends up back in her office. She sits in her chair and kicks her feet on her desk, laying back.
Kim walks into her office and smiles as she sees a colorful coffee cup on her desk. She picks up the note and feels the butterflies in her stomach as she reads the note. Serena had done this and it made Kim feel better about herself. She reads the cup and smiles, biting her lip. Kim sets her briefcase on her desk beside the coffee and picks up the cup. She walks out of her office while sipping the coffee, heading to Serena's.
