A/N: Just something I wrote to a picture prompt of a man in the rain stepping onto a curb. Weird, I know. Well, please read and review! Thanks!

The rain just wouldn't stop. He watched below as people with dark colored umbrellas walked on the wet pavement, crossing the crosswalk to their destination. But he was stuck here, in the hotel, because of his dislike with the weather.
"Kyou? Come back to bed, kitten."
The orange haired teen looked back at his lover whose white hair stuck out at all angles. Kyou sighed and headed back to the edge of the bed. He let slender fingers pull him back into the warm embrace of cotton wool.
"Do you think I could be like them out there?"
"What do you mean, Kyou?"
"I want to know what it feels like being just a regular human being, none of this zodiac curse stuff. I want to be able to enjoy the rain. I want people to like me."
"Stop fretting over stuff like that. I like you, isn't that enough, Kyou?"
Kyou sighed, letting his eyes focus on the white ceiling,
"It is . . . but at the same time, I long for it, to be accepted."
"Next time, I'm taking you somewhere where there's no rain," Haru promised balefully. Kyou turned at the younger man,
"Why?"
"It's because, you always make a depressing matter even more depressing. We're here for a vacation, a time for happiness, not to reminisce about Akito."
"Fine, but I want to stay in today. The rain is sapping all of my energy," Kyou snuggled into his pillow.
"That's fine; I rather explore what I have in front of me anyway."
The cat zodiac opened his eyes as he felt the bed shift and found himself looking directly into the Ox's brown eyes,
"Sometimes, I wonder how I put up with you."
Haru just smiled. He knew he had just brightened the cat's day even if it was just for a little while.
