I own nothing.

Sun shone brightly in the sky, granting all underneath the pleasure of its warmth on their already tanned skin. And the soft breeze spread the ever familiar smell of the sea.
It was a pleasant afternoon indeed in district 4, if you could somehow ignore the soreness of your body after the long labor on the sea. But all in all, they loved the sea and it made it all more bearable. That was the real good thing about 4. That was why they could all take it a little better than the others.
And there it happened. When their stars aligned and their fates entangled. All witnessed by the otherworldly vastness that was the sea.
It was then and there by the shore, that deep sea green eyes looked into each other, not knowing how thing will turn years from then. It was then, that the shy voice of a little bronze-haired boy could be heard asking a pretty little girl: "What are you doing?"
She was a feisty little thing, with a pretty face and long brown hair so rare and different from the natural blond of their people. She didn't even bother looking up at him more than to say: "Go away you!" in a sweet little voice and then went back to tying knots in what looked like an elaborate net for a child, with an adorable look of utmost concentration. It was hard not to laugh at the sight.
"Annie dear, be nice. This is Finnick. His father and I" he pointed to a man close by "are friends and they live on the northern shores. Now Say Hi."
And then she looked up of course, because it was father asking and all tales of the bond between father and daughter and father fell utterly short of the way little Annie Cresta worshipped her father.
She looked up and watching the boy curiously for the first time. "Hi little boy!"
Instantly laughter rang out. Two fathers laughing hard, amused by the audacity of her calling a boy much taller, little. The boy frowned. He was a big boy and he felt officially offended by being addressed otherwise. Pretty or not, he will not be friends with this girl, he decided to himself.
Amidst parents laughing and chatting happily, he crunched down where she was earlier, picked her net and started to tie completely different knots just to annoy the "little" girl. She was not quick enough to stop him. But then she saw the knot he put in the net. It was beautiful to her eyes. And that was when the magic happened. Like their destiny was tied into that one intricate knot.
Then little girl knelt beside him and asked much to his surprise:"Will you teach me please?" fascinations clear in her voice. He looked at her and even in their little childish world, he knew he would never say no to her. So they sat and tied knot after knot.
It was a magical day. One they never forgot. They never forgot the way they played and laughed and giggled and of course swam, for they were children of the sea and that day, they had no care in the world but to have a true blast. And years later they wondered if that day was the only happy day ever granted to them.
And when the day ended and the sun sank down into the sea, the little bronze-haired boy kissed the little brown-haired girl on the cheek and said goodbye. And strangely they didn't whine like the kids they were when it was time to go home almost as if they knew their paths will cross again…
