*Contains spoilers for the Elsweyr Prologue Quest*
My character's reaction to this nonsense...
The dragons flew off into the setting sun, roars echoing across ancient stone. The sound of wings flapping continued to ring through the otherwise quiet skies, even after the beasts were gone from sight.
A slight breeze stirred the dust that had settled from the dragon's release.
A pair of gloves smacked Abnur Tharn in the side of the face. He grimaced, startled.
"Ow! What-? What was that for?!"
The Vestige's eyes were narrowed into furious slits at him. "Mimosas!" she snapped.
He stared at her, still irritated, but mostly confused. "Mim-what are you on about?"
"Mimiosas!" the Vestige repeated. "That's what I was doing before being rudely interrupted to come on this stupid trip with you!"
Now Abnur was just annoyed and scoffed, rolling his eyes dramatically.
But the hero was still continuing; "I was on a nice, quiet, private beach on Artaeum drinking mimosas, eating bonbons, reading some books, enjoying some down time. No Daedric plots, no invading armies, no evil mages, stupid rulers, lost artifacts, ancient magicka issues…nothing. It was amazing."
She glared at him again. "And then I stupidly popped back to Daggerfall to refill said bonbons and ran into your stupid messenger! Oh, I have a letter for you, your hands only…"
"You didn't have to come," Abnur retorted. He sounded somewhat childish.
It was the Vestige's turn to scoff, "And leave you to your own devices? Absolutely not! But I really should have expected things to go poorly."
She gestured in the general direction of where the dragons had disappeared. "I mean, seriously? Dragons? I hate you, your Tharness. I really, really hate you."
"I don't exactly like you either," Abnur complained. "And dragons being released was not the ideal plan, obviously."
"If you don't like me, then why did you send the messenger to find me?"
He scowled. "Because, as much as I loathe to work with you again, you seem to be the only person who can get anything done."
The Vestige heaved a sigh. "Well, I suppose that much is true…"
"Now, we should return to my camp and figure out our next move." Abnur insisted.
The Vestige pat him hard on the shoulder and flashed a dazzlingly sarcastic grin. "Good luck with that! Maybe try and find a Dragonborn. That might help. Use the Amulet of Kings you still have? Unless you lost it."
He was glaring at her and she just shrugged. "I've got to go throw flower petals on people so I can get some tickets to get a magical deer with asthma that I'll never ride. Let me know when we're actually ready to travel to Elsweyr."
Abnur grumbled under his breath but conjured a portal all the same. "Come on, I can't hold this portal open indefinitely."
The Vestige stalked off in the other direction.
Abnur scowled again, "Oh, that is petty….fine, take your time. No need to rush. I'll just be planning the destruction of ancient beasts!"
"As you should! It was your fault!" the Vestige called from the other end of the structure.
As they both wandered off, Khamira looked around, tail lashing behind her.
"Hmm…..I wonder what I've just gotten myself into…."
Seriously, dragons Abnur?! Really?
This came about because I have it in my head that sometimes my character just wants to have a break. She's been running from DLC to DLC and trying to finish off base game stuff and then new stuff is constantly popping up!
And, events.
So. Many. Events.
Since the Elsweyr Prologue came out during the Jester's Festival, I couldn't help but be like. Welp. Good luck with the dragons. I'mma go catch a pig...Totally opposite quests, that.
I totally trolled Abnur and hung around while he kept his portal open after telling me it was hard to do so. Hehehehe.
Who else is excited for Elsweyr?!
