The first time Rapunzel sees snow, she's giggly and thirteen and madly in love with the Prince Charming of her Cinderella picture book. Gothel's made her wear a shawl, which gets in the way as she works on a wall mural of lilies and sunshine.

When she huffs in frustration and glances out the window, she nearly splatters herself in paint.

"Mother! Oh, is the world ending?"

She sticks her head out and thinks it couldn't possibly be true. What's falling from the sky is like heaven's confetti. The angels must be celebrating, she thinks, and laughs to herself. Snow.
