Brennan's Christmas Wish

It was Christmas Eve, she stood outside their apartment door, and she knew that his girlfriend wouldn't be back until Christmas day. She wanted nothing more than for him to change his mind, to pick her and not the other woman.

She turned away from the door and started to walk away, she heard a door open and stopped, she turned to see a woman coming out of one of the other apartments with her dog, the woman gave her a nod and walked by her.

He sat in his FBI issued SUV just outside her apartment building, he wanted to get out of the SUV so bad and go tell her how much he really does love her but he knew Hannah would be back in the morning and that it would never work between him and Bones.

He started his SUV and put it into Drive only for his cell phone to ring as he started out of the parking lot. He looked at the cell phone it said "Unknown Number" on it. He answered it confused at who could it possibly be.

"Booth" He answered as he always does.

Brennan started up the stairs of her apartment building; she got almost to the top of the stairs when she saw Booth standing by her door. She stood at the top of the stairs for a moment before saying anything to him.

"What are you doing here, Booth?" She asked softly approaching her door. He turned and looked at her.

"I came to tell you that you were right" Was all he said. She gave him a confused look.

"Right about what?" She asked as she unlocked her apartment door. He looked down and back up at her. He had no words to tell her what she was right about.

"You know what your right about… I was wrong… I was wrong to have gone back to Iraq." He said softly. "If I'd stayed maybe… things would have been… different between us." Without saying a word she opened her apartment door and pushed him inside.

"Who the hell do you think you are, Booth?" She yelled. "I told you I wanted no regrets and you told me you LOVED her! Now you come here tonight to do what? Lie to me again?" She yelled as she closed the door. The door closed with a slam.

"Bones, I wasn't finished" He said calmly. "Hannah isn't coming back, she's staying in Iraq for a year; they offered her some big story to cover" He added quickly.

"I left too" She said walking away from him. "I wasn't as lucky as you were though" she added going to the kitchen.

"I didn't go there looking for a girlfriend, Bones" Booth defended himself. "I left because I couldn't stand the thought of staying here without you for a year" He said fallowing her into the kitchen.

"I left because I needed a change; you know what I found Booth?" She said turning to him.

"No what did you find?" He asked closing in on her. She had no place to go; she was stuck between him and counter.

"I found I was missing you the whole time, I thought maybe when we got back we would have a chance…" She said her voice lowering as he got closer.

"I wish would just kiss me already" She said bluntly. He smirked at her. "Wish granted" He whispered before his lips crashed down on hers.

The End
