Thirsty... So Damn Thirsty...

The wind battled against the harsh environment of the Capital Wasteland. The dust kicked up and danced as the rough hot winds howled. Dead grass tickled the cheek of the woman laying in the sand. Her eyes fluttered as a boot flung sand into her nose. She was turned over in the sand none too gently as the owner of the boot leaned over and placed his hand on the back of her neck. The moment the water wet the woman's pealing lips she latched onto the source and sucked hard, "That's it. Good Girl..." A man's voice purred to the dying woman just over the winds of the Capital Wasteland.

(Later)

Doctor Barrows looked over the woman carefully holding her wounded arm in his hands. He looked over the oozing hole in her arm. He pulled out a RadAway bag and placed it next to the blood bag he had already going into her veins. He quickly made it so that the RadAway mixed with the blood and went into her body. Next he pulled out a bar of soap and scrubbed around the hole in her arm. He put the soap down and squeezed gently on the wound. Puss and venom poured out. Just as I thought, the ghoul Doctor mused. The woman's contorted in pain and she gasped. The sun had damaged her skin to the point that it was peeling as if she were an onion. The red splotches where the sun had rested were so burnt that blood from open wounds slowly dripped down to the table under her. As the Doctor finished cleaning the RadScorpion sting Ahzrukhal walked in with a half-smile on his features.

"How is the Smooth skin?" he questioned gathering a clean rag in his hands and wetting it in clean water. He then walked over and gently cleaned away the blood from her burned face. He then wetted her torn lips with a clean part of the rag. Her mouth opened and her tongue darted out lapping at the water droplets left behind. Her eyes fluttered open to show her eyes. One a dark blue and the other a light green. She reached out and grabbed Ahzrukhal's wrist in her hand but recoiled at the touch. The Ghoul in turn laughed at her and grabbed a bottle of clean water.

"She is going to be okay. If you hadn't found her the radiation and venom combined with the sun would have killed her in a few days." The woman looked around at the two Ghouls at her with distrust but drank as the one closest offered her the water.

"It seems like you have gone a long way just to give her clean water, Doctor." Ahzrukhal said running his fingers through the woman's now clean hair. He marveled at just how soft it was and watched as she closed her eyes. The crinkling of the emptying water bottle reached everyone's ears. He pulled the bottle away and watched her breathing return to that of sleep.

"She will be exhausted for a few days as her wounds heal. I will keep an eye on her for you." Barrows said turning to pull his sewing kit towards himself and the girl. He held a U shaped needle and pulled at the strongest thread he had, "Is she going to be a slave for this?" the Doctor asked pushing the thread into a hole at the top of the needle.

"No… no of course not. She will repay us for what had been used and be free. I will just give her some incentive to stay." Ahzrukhal said with a mischievous smile. Barrows frowned at the retreating form of the other Ghoul. She would be trapped here for a very long time.
