Came to me after watching the end scene of 02x4 again.

I don't own anything.

The sun was beating down on the black SUV, warming the driver. A light breeze danced through the open windows, playing with the driver's bangs. He sat watching the stream of endless people. Tired soldiers coming to greet family and loved ones. He watched a young girl tug on the pant leg of her father asking him when mommy was coming home. He got out of the car, scanning the sea of faces, getting worried when he did not see the face that he was looking for.

"Don?"

Don whipped around. Taking off his sunglasses to get a better look at the man behind him.

"Daniel?" He couldn't believe that this was the man that the young boy he had protected had grown into. His dark brown hair was cut close to his head. He was the same height as Don, his skin dark brown from too much sun. His cheeks were sunken in, and he looked in need of a good bath.

Daniel smiled ducking his head. Don opened his arms, taking a step closer. Daniel's bag dropped to the ground as he hugged Don tightly.

"Thank you" The not so young boy whispered into his ear.

Don stepped back clapping Daniel on the shoulder. "You've done well, your mother would be proud of you, just like I am"
