a. When she sees Jack in her bedroom doorway she should be surprised. (Mainly because she's pretty sure the door was locked, and she never gave him a key.)
b. He stands there shuffling from foot to foot and she doesn't have the energy to be surprised. She knows she looks a mess. (Her hairs stuffed in a pony-tail, her face is smeared with tears, and there's 3 packets of Sabor de Soledad open on the bed.)
c. When he crosses the room, she takes her eyes off him to look back at the same blank wall she's been staring at for the last 2 hours. (Wallowing means not having to make sense.)
d. When he sits down on the bed, he doesn't look first, and she can hear the crunch of chips being smushed against the duvet under his butt. (Usually she'd laugh, but she hasn't the energy to do so.)
e. When he plucks the half eaten sub from her hands and plonks it on the bedside cabinet, she turns her gaze back to him. She knows that really she should feel awkward or ashamed for him seeing her like this. (But she doesn't feel either. She's a little numb.)
f. When he settles closer to her, and tugs her into his arms, she sobs a little. Because she feels like crap, she looks like crap, and he's wearing a $3000 tuxedo and she's crying and snotting on it. (This is not attractive.)
g. When the next thing she knows is that it's morning. And he's still there, his arm wrapped across her stomach holding her to him. He's just wearing his boxers and a t-shirt, and she should feel awkward. (But she doesn't.)
