AN: one thing i promised myself was that i would never get into Glee, i had seen how my friends fangirled over it and sang the songs. Finally the temptation of seeing Darren Criss play a gay leader of a high school all male acapella group proved to be too much and i finally gave in. No regrets. :D

i have my new obsession. Have fun reading this strange work that came out of it. I don't know how long i will make this or anything, the way i tend to write stories on this site is to jot down the basic idea and throw together a first chapter and see if anyone wants to see more.

I'm sorry, at first it will be a bit OC-centric as i continue to try to get a feel for the characters and (try to) do them justice! So if you like what i have so far then feel free to say something in a review or PM or anything to show support~ i am open to suggestions too of course considering i haven't thought that far ahead as far as plot goes and i don't know the characters as well

soooo yeeeaaah... i'm gonna shut up and let you read! Enjoy~

Dalia stood in front of the New Directions Glee group like a deer in the headlight. Her tiny hands wrung nervously as the teacher, Will Schuester, announced her to the small crowd of smiling kids sitting in the choir room chairs facing her...watching her...judging her.

Dalia didn't hear his words, only a strange ringing in her ears and in her head. She heard the opening notes of her song as if it was being played on an old record in another room and tried to regulate her quick shallow breathes and calm her racing heart. When the music approached the part where she was supposed to start singing she opened her mouth, but before she could even breath, her light blue eyes rolled back and she collapsed in a heap on the ground.

"Is she waking up?"

"No clue..."

"Should we take her to the nurse?"

"Mr. Schue's already on it"

"I feel so bad! It's all my fault... I shouldn't have pressured her today..."

"Sweetie, it's not your fault."

"Yeah Rachel, you can't blame yourself for this"

"Wait I think she's moving-"

"Quiet down everyone!"

Dalia groaned slightly and sat up slowly. She felt a small twinge of pain on her hip where she hit the choir room floor. Her slender fingers tenderly touched the now blossoming bruise and pulled away with a wince. She looked up and saw five of the kids crouching and kneeling beside her, looking a combination of worried and relieved.

Once Dalia's head cleared enough to realize what happened, her cheeks flushed and she rose unsteadily to her feet and ran out of the room. Tears prickling at the edges of her eyes.

This was Dalia's first impression on many of the people in the room.

This was the reason why she had to join the Glee club in the first place, to over come this, because this thing was the only thing keeping her from her dreams.

This 'thing' was her stage fright. Her talent was her only ticket out of stupid Lima Ohio, and if she couldn't show it to even just a group of kids, how was she ever going to show off in front of a real audience? How would she be able to show her father that she was worth something.

How would she ever become a star if no one could see her shine?

AN: you likey? :3
