AN: I recently (as in just 5 minutes ago) came across the paper copy of this drabble, covered in dust, cowering behind my computer screen. I am not sure as to when this was meant to take place; my best guess is 6th year before Harry and Ginny start dating. Maybe I meant it to be AU, but as of now I am unsure.
So without further ado, here is the Harry/Ginny macro-drabble written 8-15-06 as stated by the title, consequently written in blue colored pencil.
Harry, fancying a walk in the corridors before curfew hour, was making his way down from the boy's dormitory towards the portrait hole when he spotted Ginny sitting on the overstuffed couch by the fire. She slumped down in a rather feeble and ill-thought-out manner as if to hide from Harry as he approached.
Seeing her there, Harry gathered his courage and said, "Fancy a walk, Ginny?"
Looking very much like a Hippogrith facing a lumos spell, she answered, "No, don't worry about me, Harry. I do not want to bother you."
"No bother," he replied, "I want you to come."
She hesitated slightly before saying, "I am not wearing any shoes…" And as if to prove her point she teetered onto her back, with her sock-clad feet held up as evidence.
"No problem," Harry said, "I'll wait while you scurry up and get your shoes."
"Well," she hemmed, "You see, I d-don't have any… The giant squid took all of mine! Yes, that's right! The giant squid.
Harry was getting the distinct impression that she was avoiding him.
