Welcome to my series of one shots! I thought of this one because of the line "Your hand's not mine to hold." I don't know where I heard it but it made me want to write so here you go!

"Triangle"

He took her right hand in both of his. "Your hand," he began. He kissed her fingertips. "It's not mine to hold." He moved one hand to her face and brushed his fingers over her lips. "Your lips are not mine to kiss." He trained his finger down to her arm. "These arms aren't mine to protect." He kissed her forehead. "Your love isn't mine to have."

Tears streamed down her face. "But I love you, KC," she whispered. He closed his eyes and kept his lips on her forehead, breathing in the smell of her hair. "You don't," he finally whispered. He pulled away from her to look at her. "You don't love me, Jenna." Tears continued to fall and he wiped them from her eyes. "Please don't leave me," she pleaded. "I need you; I can't live without you." He smiled a half smile and looked her in her big blue eyes. The laughter and joy they usually held was replaced by sorrow and misery. But he had to do this. "You've lived without me for years," he reminded her. "You made it then and you can make it now."

"But you can't leave me!" she cried. "What about our son?" KC took Jenna's hand and kissed her palm. "You and I both know he's better off without me," he said quietly. She pulled away from him and snatched her hand back. "There's someone else," she accused bitterly. KC's eyes widened. "No, no," he quickly lied. "I've loved you for so long and I still love you now." He sighed and closed his eyes. "And it's because I love you that I have to go." He opened his eyes and gently grabbed her face. "You and I both know you don't love me like this; you're lying to yourself, Jenna. I can't let you live like this, lying to yourself day in and day out for the sake of our child. That's why I have to leave. Please...don't make this harder for me."

Instead of giving her one last kiss, he moved his hands from her face and left her standing alone in the mall. She left the mall crying, letting a piece of her heart walk away...right into the arms of the other woman.

KC drove to Marisol's house, and grabbed her face to kiss her deeply once she answered the door. "What's going on?" she asked with a smile. "Everything I have is yours," he whispered in her ear. She jumped slightly and hugged him tightly. "I can't believe you left her!" she exclaimed. KC kissed Marsol's neck. "I did all for us," he told her. Happily, Marisol took KC into her house and upstairs where they would spend the night together.

But while he was trying to have fun like he'd always wanted, he kept thinking of Jenna and how he'd ripped her heart out and trampled it like it was a bee on the ground. He tried to be happy with Marisol, but all he could do was think of Jenna miserably raising the child he didn't even want. But it was too late to go back. He'd made his bed, and know he was laying in it.
