Caught In The Rain
Ash+Misty Oneshot
Ash doesn't like to get caught in the rain. Misty doesn't mind getting caught in the rain. What about when they both get caught in the rain?
Ash and Misty, with Pikachu following behind, were walking toward Mt. Moon, on their way to Pewter City, to get Brock. Misty was humming a tune to a song she knew, and Ash was thinking about those rain clouds up ahead. He always hated rain, and they where a long way from any hut, shelter, or Mt. Moon.
"Uh, Misty?" he asked, nervously.
Misty, who was slightly scared at first, said, "What?"
He pointed ahead. "Shouldn't we find shelter?"
She laughed, "Ash Kethem, don't tell me you're afraid of a little rain?"
He laughed nervously, "Well, it's just, I don't like getting wet."
Misty looked at him, "Why is that?"
Ash was at a loss a words. "Thought so." Misty said triumphly.
Then, as fast as Ash started the conversation started, the rain came in buckets. Ash scambled about, trying to find shelter. "Follow me!" Misty said, and ran, with Ash following, to a tree nearby.
The tree was not dense. The rain still fell through the free spots. "I hate the rain!" Ash yelled. BOOM! Thunder claped, followed by lightning. "PIKA PI!" Pikachu cried. "No, Pikachu. You'll fry us both." Misty said. Pikachu stood down.
"Look!" Ash pointed to a large, hollow tree. They ran to the tree. "Pika" Pikachu said when they got in. "Well, this is not a nice way to spend an evening." Misty said, sitting down on the edge of the trunk. "Yeah, yeah." Ash said, laying down. They knew this storm, that was a small hurricane, would last the night. So they were stuck in a tree trunk.
Pikachu, who fell asleep early, was on the side farthest away from the entry hole. "This is bogus." Ash said. "Well, what do you want me to do about it?" Misty said. It was late, but the rain still pouring down. She was tired, and knew that Ash was too. "Well, I'm going to sleep. Night." she said. "Yeah, night."
That night, a bright, close lightning bolt hit the ground outside the tree, followed by a thunder clap so load, the tree rumbled. Ash and Misty woke up. Pikachu was already awake, but fell asleep instantly. "What was that?" Misty said, fear in her voice. "I think it was a lightning bolt. Sounded close." Ash replied. "Yeah, too close." Misty said, moving closer to Ash. 'What in the world?' Ash thought. Misty had a look of horrible fear. "Are you scared?" Ash asked, with a kind tone. Misty sat there, still. "Well, it's ok. I'm here." he said, trying to help her cope. More lightning struck, and thunder boomed. But niether cared. They were trying to help each other. "Don't worry, Misty, I'm here. It's alright." Ash said. Misty looked at him. He said that? She never heard him say something like that. But, right now, she didn't care. She cuddled up next to him. He grabbed her around the waist and held her close. "I'll hold you." he said. She hugged him back. They sat there, holding each other. "I love you, Misty." Ash said suddenly. "Ash..." she was speech less. Then, without warning, Ash pulled her closer, and placed his lips on hers.
Misty was overwhelmed with emotions. She didn't know what to do. 'Kiss back.' Her mind told her. She did that. For a moment, they sat there, locked in an embrace that only 2 who cared deeply for each other would be able to produce. After about 20 second, they relesed. The rain finally stoped, and the sun peeked out over the peak of Mt. Moon. Pikachu woke up, unknowing to what happened. "Let's get out of here, ok? We gotta meet Brock." Ash said, grabbing Pikachu. Misty went over to him.
"I love you, too."
