When got back from the city with his mother and the others, he quickly realized Tris and Caleb had succeeded. Now he just wanted to find her and finally be with her, with no worries, no troubles; just him and her.

He saw Christina at the main entrance, but Tris wasn't with her… Caleb was the one next to her. He ran to them and saw the concerned look in their faces.

"Where's Tris?" his voice had returned to the authority it had when he was an instructor and a leader in the Dauntless faction. He was demanding and answer.

"Four…" Christina began "Tris went in, replacing Caleb… She hasn't come out yet."

Four quickly turned to Caleb and grabbed him by the collar in his shirt.

"Why did she go in instead of you?" he shouted.

"I… I…" Caleb couldn't speak, he was in shock with everything that was happening.

"Answer me!" Four was about to lose it when a voice stopped him.

"Tobias, no! Let him go!"

They all turned to the direction of the voice and saw Tris, standing there, perfectly fine.

"Tris!" Four almost cried and ran to her "I thought I had lost you… What happened back there?"

"I'm not quite sure. Somehow the death serum didn't affect me. I mean, it almost did, but I got the strength to beat it."

"Oh Tris, you did it" Four said, feeling so proud of her.

He grabbed her and kissed her, without any fear surrounding them anymore.

"I love you Tobias!" Tris said, smiling and holding him close to her.

"I…"

Tobias didn't have the change to tell her, one last time, that he loves her. He woke up. Looked around his room. His eyes landed in the empty space in his bed, which was meant for her, but was never going to be occupied again…
