Konohamaru watched from afar as his useless tutor strode away from his home, after yet another unenlightening session. That guy really thought he was something. What an idiot.

Evening was giving way to the night, and there was coolness in the air which warned that lower temperatures were not far off in the distance. Prime training season would be winding down soon, and thanks to what he was forced to call a tutor, he'd made little progress. He'd just barely kept up with the others in his class last time his Grandfather had come to watch his testing. Enough was enough.

Konohamaru searched the building for scrolls of all kinds, the old and the ancient, and ascended the stairs to his room, which was made somewhat difficult by the size of the load he was now attempting to reposition in his arms. Reaching the doorway of his room, he stepped gingerly inside, and placed his burden on the table, he seated himself comfortably beside it. He then carefully undid the seal on the scroll nearest him. The parchment was dry and rough, leathery under his fingertips, he slid his hand further over it's surface, further revealing the text. As his eyes traveled over the words, he felt his resolve harden. Time to get down to business.

The young ninja in training was rarely seem outside of his room in the days that followed. He emerged from his room as it was nearing afternoon a week later. Confidence overtook him. He was ready.

That 'teacher' should be arriving soon as per usual. The man arrived shortly after. The boy's chosen attack was simple in truth, but the strength of the technique lay in the users ability to utilize chakara.

The target entered the downstairs waiting area shorty after, where Konohamaru was waiting. The heated blue blast roared as it leaped from the out-stretched palm of his right hand, with a force that very well may have propelled him backwards, had he not also been working on his footing whilst locked away. With a smug grin in place, he held his head high while the teacher, which now resembled something one would find on the bottom on their boot after a rather high-ranking mission, dragged himself to the door leading outside, and disappeared behind it, whining in a most undignified manner the whole way. However, as Konohamaru walked triumphantly down the hall, one could swear they heard something akin to the Hokage's chuckle, and perhaps even see the residual energy from a particularly powerful attack, coming from the doorway... Just out of sight.
