Against a Starless Sky

Against A Starless Sky

[A/N:  This is, ~gasp~, yet another depressing poem, from Rachel's POV.  I'm not sure if the last verse makes any sense, so I would like your opinions on it.]

The thrumming of my heart,
Against a starless sky,
Forms a harmony of sorts,
With the pounding of my feet,
Racing down the streets of Death,
Running, with nowhere to go.

Feeling the rhythm of my blood,
The crimson that I've seen,
Luminescent scarlet, against a starless sky.
Ruby blossoms, effervescent light,
Blooming along the empty streets,
Leaving me nowhere to run.

For the moon, in my sky,
Holds no peace for me,
A cold, dead, eye,
Seeking out my guilt,
Thrumming in my heart,
Shooting through my veins.

At night it closes in,
Breaking through my shields,
So I run along the empty streets,
Feeling the beat of my pulse,
Against a starless sky.
Racing down the streets of Death,
With nowhere to run.
