Witch Craft

Witchcraft also known as Wicca surrounds us in our everyday life. It is alive and all around us. People in our world should realize that Wicca is very real. For those who believe that Wicca is not real they should realize how many different kinds of Wicca/Witchcraft there is. Many simply choose to believe that Witchcraft/Wicca is not real. They believe this because it seems the easiest possible way to think. It is not however true. Many simply don't understand what goes on around them every day.

Witchcraft as I will refer to through the remainder of the paper as Wicca can be performed by the person sitting next to you in class, or your neighbor across the road, or you. I want to make sure that you understand that the Wicca I speak of is NOT like the magic you see in the television show Charmed, or Harry Potter, or the movie The Craft. The Wicca I am speaking of comes from nature. Using the resources we have and working them into mostly protection and health spells. It's working things in the world to help you better your life. Just as everything in life there can be bad Wicca preformed just as often as good Wicca.

Evil or bad Wicca normally consists of cursing or intending harm against another person/thing. Very few people use evil Wicca this is because when thinking of nature and its uses you think of the good, beautiful things about it. The Salem Witch Trials of 1692 prove that witchcraft has been believed in for hundreds of years. In the course of the trials many were accused of witchcraft and though many were proved innocent in the end there is no way of telling if there really were "witches." In the story The Crucible by Arthur Miller a slave named Tituba was accused of influencing the girls of Salem to participate in Wiccan rituals having them dance naked in the woods and even going as far as having one girl drink chicken blood. Proof that witchcraft may have in fact existed in Salem. Many people refuse to believe that witchcraft is real. Their minds simply can't comprend that there is something beyond this realm that can't be proven by science. They refuse to accept that there is the possibility of something that can't be proven only believed in.

Those who don't believe in witchcraft should stretch their imagination past what they can see. Magic is possiable not the bright lights and swishing wind with powers but the kind that helps heal people. An example of those who don't believe in witchcraft would be the puritans that founded

Salem who believed that anything past their beliefs was sinning and they would go to Hell for eternity. They simply thought
