Well I started thinking, which is highly dangerous in my situation, the smoke gets to me and all, and- well anyway, I was thinking about Lily and James, and decided to write me a little story to put me back in an Harry frame of mind. I had fun (
"Yes! Yes, of course!" I flung my arms around his neck and hugged him close. "I thought you'd never ask," I whispered in his ear, through the wisps of unruly black hair.
"Lily, as much as I love you. we can't get married if I can't breath." I pulled back, but held onto his hands, those beautiful hands attached to beautiful arms, attached to.
"Sorry." I beamed, and looked at the ring he had just slipped onto my finger, a perfect diamond on a fragile looking gold band, engraved on the inside with our names. His eyes met mine then, and the moment seemed to last forever as my green eyes stared into his eyes, the color blue so deep you could fall into them if you looked into them long enough. No longer aware of the waves crashing behind me, or the party still going on behind him, we were only disturbed when Molly came and offered us some glasses of champagne.
"It's nearly midnight," She told us. "If you two want to come up and celebrate the last of another year with the rest of us. or you can stay down here." She winked at us, and then headed back to go find Arthur, her husband, and Anna, her younger sister.
"Let's head up with her, James. I want to show it off," I told him, holding up the hand with the ring on it, and giggling a little. "We'll come back down later. End a year with our friends and start a year with each other."

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!" Every voice in our year at Hogwarts blended into a single sound as the new year hit. This was the first time we had all been back together as a class since June, and there was more excitement than at any New Year's party I'd ever been to before. Only James and I weren't jumping around, dancing, kissing or hugging whoever crossed our paths.
"Happy New Year, James," I said, turning to face him while I sat on his lap.
"New Year's kiss?" he asked, hopefully.
"Of course."

"What d'you think it's going to be like?" James and I were walking down the beach, hand in hand, talking as Sirius's father's beach-house grew steadily smaller in the distance.
"I think. Well I think we'll be very very happy together, and, well. you'll have to wake up to my face every morning, and-"
"Is that supposed to be a bad thing, Lily? Hell, try spending seven years waking up to Sirius's face. And the smell of a dungbomb, but."
"What about the wedding? I'd like to have it outside. And Molly as the Maid of Honor, and, oh, the Weaslys little boy, Billy, isn't it? He'd make an adorable little ring-bearer, I think."
James turned toward me, taking my other hand. "Lily. We have a lifetime to figure out what we're going to do with the rest of our lives. What's important right now- right now- is that I love you, and you love me, and we don't need anything else. Not a thing"
