A Secret Left Behind

Show off, Ronald Weasley thought as Harry got all the glory and fame, he knew that Harry meant no harm, but he was jealous. He didn't understand why it always had to be Harry who got all the praises, he helped too after all.

When the Professor came to Harry and congratulated him on completing the assignment and doing it so wonderfully well, Ron snorted. I'm going to kick his arse if he doesn't wipe that bloody smug smile on his face. Ron thought again, he looked at Hermione who looked happy for Harry; she smiled at him mouthed Good Job to him. Harry mouthed back words to her and looked at Ron; at the slightest glance, Ron immediately smiled using his best I-am-so-happy-for-you-that-I'm-going-to-die fell for it and turned back to the Professor with the stupid smile still on; Ron rolled his eyes wishing that and the applauding would end.

Harry started walking back to his seat next to Ron and smiled at all the students who gave a thumbs up, Harry smiled back. Bloody 'ell, will Harry ever stop smiling? Ron's face fell in his book, making words collide in his eyes all fuzzy like. He waited for the class to be over, no wait…he wanted class to be over. He tried to listen, but he didn't have Hermione's smart brain. Ron didn't have anything, he couldn't properly do a spell without mumbling or saying the words wrong, he didn't have the courage either. So why does Harry still bring him along? Why does Harry hang out and talk to him. Ron thought it was compassion and kindness, but ever since Harry started saving the school from being destroyed like fifty times, he thought it was another reason. Maybe to show him how bad he was in front others, Ron didn't know, all he cared about right now is that the teacher would finally shut up and lunch would come.

"Hey Ron, you okay?" Harry asked soothingly, he looked at Ron with the most concerned face, clearly worried about him. But Ron didn't care, he hated Harry, sometimes his anger would be subdued, but today was one of his bad days; he failed a test, and Harry comes to take all the glory and fame again.

"I'm fine Harry, just tired." Ron half smiled, trying to show that he didn't get much sleep. Harry just patted his back and went back to the lesson. Ron frowned and let his chin rest on the table. He could never know, he wouldn't understand, he doesn't understand what I'm going through. "Oh Harry Potter this and Harry Potter that" I SICK of it. One day I'll get enough attention, one day I'll save the day and Harry would be the bystander and see how it feels. Hermione would come and hug me, while I get praised by the professors and students. Even Draco would be on his stupid pure-blood knees. Ron imagined in his mind. But Ron knew, he knew that will never happen and that he will always be Harry's shadow; helping him and being a friend. He knew that he'll never get a girlfriend that would talk all about his victories. He knew that no one could ever know what he feels like. It has to be a secret left behind.
