Wrong Address.

Haruka held the letter in his hand, it was old, but well taken care of, a stamp was on it that said the letter had not reached the recipient, and it was sent back.

But when he had approached Gou about it, she had said it was the right address. It hurt Haruka to know that Ren had sent it back without so much as opening it.

That had been two years ago, and now here he was holding it, he remembered every word.

'Hello Rin, How's australlia? See any of those Kangaroo's? I read in a book that there was this type of toad that infested itself there, see any of those?

I miss you, Makoto, and Nagisa do to. I still swim, only free though. You still swim too right?

Please write back.

-Haruka'

It was short, and sadly it wasn't the only letter he had written, He opened a draw, and nine other innocent letters were sitting there, all unopened, all with the same stamp on it. Haruka had been in his last year of middle school when he finally gave up, with this last final letter that he was holding in his hand.

He realized with an ache in his chest, that Rin would never write back. He had hurt Rin with doing what he loved, and it hurt. The first letter he had worked hard on and it was an extensive letter about how he didn't mean to make him cry, that he wanted to stay friends.

'I'll never swim with you again.' He had said just a couple of days before, and Haruka's heart ached. Swimming. That's what he needed, to go swimming. It's warm enough to swim in the ocean.

Haruka stripped down to his shorts, and walked out his door to head for the ocean, not caring he had left the door unlocked for people to get in, or that the letters he had hidden from everyone had been left for all to see. All he wanted to do was swim.

He swam and swam for hours, till the sun began to set, and he just floated, letting the waves take him back to shore. For a moment he wondered if a shark would take a bite out of him? Nah, he'd be quick like a dolphin and get away before that could happen.

When he got to shore, he lay on the sand and looked up at the sky where the stars were starting to appear. It wasn't as amazing as the stars on the island, but then again…that was a once in a lifetime thing to of happened.

"Oi."

Said a familiar voice, but Haruka didn't react, he concentrated on the stars and kept his face straight.

"Haruka." The voice continued and Haruka again did nothing, and he could tell the person behind him was getting frustrated.

"You kept those damn letters after all this time." Haruka blinked, glancing at Rin, sat up, and stared at the ocean.

"Yeah." He said, and didn't move, breathed softly, and carefully.

"I was acting like a dumbass for not reading them." Rin finally said, his voice thick with emotion and Haruka felt something thunk behind him, and something press against his shoulders. "I'm so, so sorry Haru." Rin said, as his arms wrapped around Haruka's chest. Haruka looked at the red hair of his friend with a blank stare.

"It's not your fault." Haruka said, and looked to the ocean, "I just had the wrong address."

Rin stiffened, and laughed. "You always did forgive easily."

Haruka almost smiled at that.
