Prologue

Without a trace

The pale moonlight was shining through a small slit that was cut in the cold cement walls of a suffocating cellar. The hours passed without fail and took with it the light. Huddled in the corner was a darkness that even the radiance of the moon could not cast her brilliance upon. The black mass did not move, it did not speak, and it did not make a sound.

The consistent ringing of his cell phone awoke Dee out of his slumber. He fumbled around in the darkness for the source of his early morning annoyance. Once he had his hands on the phone he wished he could strangle whoever was at the other end.

"Wha- who the hell is it? He asked groggily into the receiver. Bikky's voice was there to great him on the other end.

"Who the hell do you think perv? Let me talk to Ryo!" Dee sat up abruptly and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes with the back of his hand.

"Ryo? What are you talking about?" He growled

"What the hell do you think I mean?" Bikky shot back "Ryo's there right? So let me talk to him."

"Ryo's not here, he left hours…" Dee stopped and thought about what he was saying, "Have you tried his cell?"

"Duh, do I ever call you looking for him without trying his cell first?" The brat had a point, "Idiot I keep getting his voice mail." Upon hearing what Dee said Bikky's fears increased ten fold. Ryo was missing and Dee didn't know where he was.

Dee looked over at the bright glowing numbers on his clock and saw that it now read 2:07 am; Ryo had left around 9:00. "I'll be over in a minute." With that Dee hung up the phone and threw on whatever cloths he could find. When all was said and done he dashed out the door headed in Bikky's direction.

"Where are you?" He muttered to himself the entire time. What he did not know was that he was taking the same route that Ryo had taken earlier that night.
